Eat more to weigh less. Those words are music to anyone’s ears who has ever tried to lose weight. It may not seem possible, but eating the right foods can help you drop pounds by revving your calorie burn and curbing cravings. You know that starving yourself isn’t a successful healthy weight loss plan, and who wants to eat bean sprouts and salads at every meal? If you begin adding the following super foods to your plate today, you will have a better chance of being slimmer and healthier in no time! Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #1: SteakBeef has a reputation of being a bad for our diet, but it’s a good choice for dinner when you want to shed unwanted pounds. People who include red meat into their diet generally lose more weight than those eating other foods of equal calories. As an added benefit, protein in steak helps retain muscle mass during weight loss. Want the best results? Go for the local organic beef. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #2: EggsEggs (including the yolk) can help you trim inches without harming your heart. An egg each morning can allow you to lose twice as many pounds as the alternative of a bagel breakfast with the same number of calories. Egg protein is quite filling, so as a result you eat less later in the day. Omelets and scrambles are obvious choices, but if you can’t cook before work, grab a soy-protein shake and save your eggs for the weekend. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #3: KaleBirds love it, and have you ever seen a fat bird? Kale should always find a place somewhere on your dinner plate. One cup contains only 34 calories while providing you with a hearty helping of iron and calcium. Not into kale’s earthy flavor? Try spinach as an alternative. It’s just as nutrient dense, but with a milder-taste. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #4: Buckwheat pastaForget all those diets that tell you carbohydrates are bad. You need them for fuel or else your body will start grabbing it from your muscles. Instead of going for plain noodles, try buckwheat. It is higher in fiber and unlike most carbohydrate-rich foods, it contains protein! These two nutrients make it very satiating, so it’s harder to overeat than regular pasta. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #5: PomegranatesPomegranate seeds are loaded with folate and disease-fighting antioxidants. They’re low in calories and high in fiber, so they satisfy your sweet tooth without ruining your healthy weight loss efforts. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #6: BeansBeans are a very good sources of protein, fiber and iron. Navy, White, Kidney and Lima beans are all fat-burning foods. The only ones that you should limit are those baked and refried because they contain tons of saturated fat and sugar. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #7: OatmealWhile it may not be the tastiest thing you can eat, oatmeal definitely has fat burning qualities. It helps lower your cholesterol level and blood cholesterol because of it’s abundance of soluble fiber. Just like beans, you can’t always go for Americanized version, you know the yummy apples and cinnamon version loaded with butter and sugar. If regular oatmeal tastes too bland, sweeten your bowl by adding fruit, honey or cranberries. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #8: Olive OilOlive oil is one of those good fats that your body needs. It’s so good, in fact, that it helps you burn fat and keeps your cholesterol down. Rich in monounsaturated fat, olive oil provides outstanding health benefits. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #9: Green TeaWant to talk about anti-oxidants? It doesn’t get any better than this. Green tea not only provides you with enough natural energy to last throughout the day, but it is loaded with antioxidants and helps accelerate your metabolism. Stop drinking 3 cups of coffee every morning and switch to one cup of this super food. You’ll watch your pounds melt away while feeling energetic at the same time. Of course, all of these foods should be accompanied with a daily exercise regimen in order for them to be the most effective for healthy weight loss. Cardiovascular exercise burns calories and building muscle burns fat. Once you condition yourself to make healthier food choices and exercise every day, you’ll be on your way to losing weight and keeping it off for good. Continue Reading »Even though everyone loses weight in a different way, it is common and perfectly normal for any dieter to reach a plateau. Instead of allowing it to frustrate you, use it as an opportunity to double up your efforts and reconnect with your strategy to carry you through to the finish line. Listed below are 5 of the best ways to re-ignite the healthy weight loss process when you feel challenged. Choose the tips that work best for you or simply go for them all! Healthy Weight Loss Plateau Breaker #1: Start ExercisingAlthough you can lose weight without exercise, it will always accellerate your efforts. If you are not injured or do not suffer from severe asthma, be thankful that you can get outside and move your body. Take advantage of your ability to be active because many people do not have that luxury. The more you exercise, the better you will get at it, and the less it will feel like work. If you are already exercising, add something different to the mix to make your body working harder. Add intensity, in the form of extra weight, run faster or for a longer distance, or more duration. Going until you fail is the easiest way to ensure you’re pushing hard enough. Add extra sit-ups and push-ups before you go to sleep and when you wake up. Done in the AM on an empty stomach, this can kick-start your metabolism by teaching your body to more efficiently mobilize its fat stores for energy. Healthy Weight Loss Plateau Breaker #2: Make Healthier Eating ChoicesWhen you are trying to lose weight, there is nothing more important than proper nutrition. Your body can perform miracles with choices like soy protein shakes, fruits and vegetables. You’ll not only bust past your plateau, but you’ll do it in a healthy way. Eliminate refined sugar grains (most pre-packaged snack foods) so carbohydrates can not get their way unnoticed into your diet. Cutting back on how often you eat can have a negative impact on your diet plateau as well. Small, frequent meals are more satisfying and produce better weight-loss results than the same number of calories consumed in three large meals. Take advantage of healthys nacks like protein bars, soy nuts and fresh vegetable and fruit slices. Eating more of the right kinds of food is a much smarter plan of action to break a healthy weight loss plateau than starving yourself. Healthy Weight Loss Plateau Breaker #3: Drink Green TeaWhenever I want to lose 5 or 10 pounds of stubborn belly fat, I drink more green tea. Packed with more vitamins and antioxidants than any other drink, green tea is an all-natural way to give yourself energy to compliment your enthusiasm for losing weight. The best part, however, is that green tea ahas the amazing ability to actually speed up your metabolism! You will notice results right away with just one cup, but the more you drink it, the more you will want it! Healthy Weight Loss Plateau Breaker #4: Keep Your Incentive Strongthe body achieves what the mind believes. If you don’t believe you can make it past the hurdle of a weight loss plateau, you probably won’t. You’ll give up before you have a chance to even try. Focus on re-capturing the determination you felt when you first began your weight-loss program. The excitement of watching the pounds drop one by one should be the focus of your motivation. If it was something that has come and gone, like a high school reunion or a wedding, choose a new goal. Start keeping a diet journal of everything you eat and drink. You may quickly discover that hidden carbohydrates and sugars are keeping your healthy weight-loss progress stuck at the plateau. Eliminate trigger foods or anything that you think may be contributing to your inability to lose more weight. If you are eating pretzels every day at 2pm, don’t starve yourself by not eating if you are hungry at that time…just replace the pretzels with something healthier like fruit or chicken. Healthy Weight Loss Plateau Breaker #5: Drink More WaterIt is extremely important to replenish your fluids by drinking plenty of water on any weight loss program, especially if you are incorporating exercise on a daily basis. An inadequate supply of water can slow down your weight-loss, so carry a water bottle with you wherever you go throughout the day. Keeping well hydrated not only helps you burn fat efficiently, it also helps control hunger. Follow these 5 steps and you will have a better chance of breaking your healthy weight loss plateau than if youcontinue stressing over the obstacle. Each time you sit down to eat or have a snack, take a moment to become mindful that the food you are about to eat is either taking you one step closer to your goal, or one step away. As you make this mental connection, and dedicate each serving of food or drink to your weight loss, you will naturally be inclined to enjoy the foods and drinks that pushed you past your plateau. Continue Reading »Anyone struggling to lose weight may be focusing all of their energy on the wrong thing…food! It is equally important to make sure you are drinking liquids that accelerate healthy weight loss. Staying hydrated is essential for your body. What you drink can effect your mood and focus not to mention your health. If you pick the right drinks, you will benefit from the nutrients, antioxidants and proteins that will help with a healthy weight loss. Americans in general are problem drinkers. We crave high-sugar, high-calorie drinks like sodas and smoothies. Over 20 percent of American’s calorie intake comes from drinks such as soda pop, fruit punches, and the oh-so trendy Starbuck lattes. We are becoming obese because of all these extra calories we do not need. The next time you feel thirsty and have trouble determining whether or not a drink is healthy, refer to the list below. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #1: Water Water is a crucial part of healthy weight loss success. Forget flavored energy drinks and expensive bottled water. Remember the free stuff that comes out of your kitchen sink? We all grew up on this stuff and no one became unhealthy because of it, yet for some reason we flock to the store to buy it in a bottle just because a television commerical tells us to. If you think your tap water is full of impurities, buy a Brita water purifying pitcher or some type of water filter. The main point here is that pure water is healthier than any kind of diet soda or energy drink you can pay for. Drink up to 8 glasses a day and you will notice an acceleration in your weight loss. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #2: Pomegranate Juice Drinking concentrated pomegranate juice may reduce cholesterol and blood pressure while slowing down LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) oxidation. Because they contain beneficial antioxidants, they rid your body of harmful free radicals that can slow down any weight loss program. The healthier your body is, the better it can perform. Pomegranate juice is safe to drink, but just like anything else you should not over-indulge. Most studies have shown that a daily helping of 1.5 oz. of pomegranate juice is the most beneficial. Anti-oxidants are found in bright colored fruits like red grapes. Unlike pomegranate juice, be careful when drinking grape juice. Manufacturers tend to add a lot of sugar into fruit juices so they seem healthy, but they really are not. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #3: Green Tea Green tea is one of the drinks I use on a daily basis that contributes to helping me keep an ideal weight after losing 70 pounds 15 years ago. Just like pomegranite juice, it is full of powerful antioxidants that give your body the very best fuel a drink can possibly give. Depending on the manufacturer, green tea comes in all kinds of flavors. One cup of green tea every morning gives me enough energy to last all day long. It is a natural energy, unlike the sugar rush you get from fitness drinks and coffee, so you never feel let down as the day goes on. Energy is obviously important for weight loss because the more you move around, the more calories you will burn. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #4: Soy-Based Protein Shakes Along with green tea, soy-based protein shakes are responsible for my weight loss and weight maintenance. Imagine getting 2,000 calories worth of nutrition in a 200 calorie smoothie. Your body gets what it needs without the excess baggage that comes with eating tons of food. It is the closest thing to a magic weight loss potion that you will find. Depending on how much weight you need to lose, this drink acts as a meal replacement. Obese people who need to lose over 100 pounds should obviously replace each meal with a shake, and those maintaining weight should replace at least one. I would never let a day go by without one of these powerful drinks. Why would I? I have been at my ideal weight and medication free ever since I introduced them into my diet. The bottom line here is that you must pay attention to what you drink as much as what you eat if you are trying to lose or maintain a healthy weight. Start by replacing what you are now drinking with any or all of the suggestions above. Living a healthy lifestyle is the key to reaching your healthy weight loss goals. That requires the mindset of person willing to make small changes on a daily basis. You are what you eat…and drink! Continue Reading »Healthy weight loss programs can be hard to find. Far too many mainstream diets appear to expect you to live on starvation rations, to cut out one or more of the major essential food groups, to poison your body with possibly dangerous diet pills, or to eat additive-filled meal replacements. But you don’t have to abuse your body to lose weight. Instead, look for a healthy, balanced weight loss plan that meets the following criteria: It Should Be Based on Natural, Unprocessed Food Firstly, a healthy diet program involves eating real food, not synthetic meal replacements, and the food should be as close to its natural state as possible. This means fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, dairy (preferably organic) and other nutrient-rich, unprocessed foods. Any kind of low calorie diet will help you to lose weight, but if you want to remain healthy too, it’s essential to include lots of high quality fresh foods, and to eat enough. So avoid any diet plan that would require you to live on junky processed food or meal replacement drinks – that way of eating just isn’t sustainable over the long term. It Shouldn’t Involve Diet Pills Diet pills can sometimes help people to lose weight quickly, but their long term effects on the body are uncertain. Risking your health for short term weight loss is a bad idea, particularly if you don’t change your eating and lifestyle habits. With a healthy diet and moderate amounts of regular exercise, there’s simply no need to pop pills to lose weight, and a healthy weight loss program won’t expect you to. It Should Include Some Exercise You can lose weight without exercising, but if you care about your long term health, taking some exercise is essential. Exercise can help to prevent chronic health problems, and it also gives your mood and energy levels an immediate boost. In addition, exercise makes weight loss easier because you’ll burn calories during your workout, your metabolic rate will be increased for some time afterwards, and you’ll build lean muscle tissue, which is more metabolically active than fat – meaning that you burn more calories even when you’re at rest. So for optimal health, ensure that your weight loss program includes at least twenty minutes of exercise three or four days a week. You Should Eat Enough, and Often Enough It’s essential to provide your body with enough food when you’re trying to lose weight. Avoid the temptation to skip meals or go on a crash diet, because this puts your body under stress, and will decrease your energy levels, making overeating more likely. If you get into the habit of under-eating, you’re also at risk of malnutrition and losing muscle mass. In addition to the negative effects on your health, skipping meals won’t really help with weight loss, because your body’s metabolic rate will slow. This makes fat loss more difficult, and you’ll be more likely to regain even more weight than you lost when you begin to eat normally again. So for healthy weight loss, eat at least three meals a day (many people find that four or five smaller meals works better), and don’t be tempted to skip any meals. It Should Stress the Importance of Making Permanent Changes Any diet plan that depends on faddy short term techniques such as cutting out whole food groups, taking diet pills or drastically reducing calories won’t help you lose weight permanently, and won’t help you to stay healthy over the long term either. For most people, plans of that type are impossible to stick with for very long, because the body eventually rebels, and forces you to eat more just to provide the energy and nutrients that it needs. Any healthy weight loss plan will put the emphasis on making permanent changes in your eating habits, and also eating adequate (but not excessive) amounts of healthy, unprocessed, nutritionally-dense foods. If you’re in the habit of overeating, or you live on junk foods, changing to such a plan can be challenging, but it is doable, given some time and patience. And it’s definitely worth the effort, because once you’ve established healthy new habits, the weight will stay off, and you’ll be free from the yoyo cycle of weight gain and loss for ever. And you’ll feel great too! So if you want to lose weight, keep it off, and be vibrantly healthy too, look for a health-focused weight loss plan that avoids short term gimmicks and instead encourages you to do what’s best for your body. In today’s world of highly advertised fad diets, it is very difficult for us to know which foods are actually healthy and which foods are not. This program says not to eat an apple, while this other program tells us it keeps the doctor away. Once and for all, we need to know which foods are nutritious so we can all jump off the weight loss roller coaster. Before I get into the details, it is important to stress that weight loss without proper nutrition is not the road you want to take. No magic pill will ever give you the benefits of eating properly. Stop looking for short cuts and get serious about your health. It is the only way to live a lifestyle that is free of the threats of disease, poor health and obesity. Healthy Foods Tip #1: Green VegetablesVegetables such as spinach and cabbage are very significant in maintaining a healthy body. They are rich in vitamins and minerals. How do they help accelerate weight loss? They are water-rich, which means you are actually filling yourself up with liquids instead of fatty calories. Healthy Foods Tip #2: Fatty FishDid you read that right? Yes, it says fatty! Oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines have omega-3 fats. Despite all the hoopla surrounding the fat-free weight loss craze, your body does in fact need good fat for optimal weight loss performance. Omega-3 fats also takes care of our heart. It prevents stroke and lowers bad cholesterol in our body. Healthy Foods Tip #3: Green Tea Anti-oxidants rid our bodies of free radials that can cause damage to our cells and slow the process of healthy weight loss. Green tea offers such a powerful supply of anti-oxidants and vitamins that it has been known to accelerate metabolism by drinking only one cup per day. Tomatoes, red grapes and blueberries are also beneficial for the same reasons, but on a smaller scale. Healthy Foods Tip #4: Citrus fruitsOranges, lemons, limes and other citrus fruits are all high in Vitamin C. That helps to prevents colds, asthma and arthritis. What happens when your body is functioning without illness? It performs better! When your body gets the right nutrition, it can perform its own miracles…like giving you more energy and burning off extra weight. Healthy Foods Tip #5: CarrotsHave you ever heard someone say carrots were unhealthy? I guess they would be if you ate tons of them every day, just like anything else that is abused. The reality is that carrots are good source of Vitamin A and promotes better eyesight. It only takes a half cup worth to work like magic to accelerate healthy weight loss. Healthy Foods Tip #6. BananasThis fruit is so nutrition that even monkeys know it is good for them. It can help cure ulcers, diarrhea and stomach cramps because it is high in potassium. If you sweat a lot and need energy, grab a banana. Many athletes consume bananas for energy and alertness. Have you ever seen an overweight monkey or athlete? Healthy Foods Tip #7: SoyThe soybean is as close to a magic weight loss pill as you will ever find. No, you can not pop them into your mouth and watch the pounds melt away, but when you add soy into your daily diet, you will be amazed to see how quickly your health and weight loss improve at the same time. Soy-based protein smoothies helped me to lose 70 pounds in 4 months 15 years ago. And yes, I still have the weight off! Healthy Foods Tip #8 ApplesAn apple a day keeps the doctor away. It has vitamin C and pectin that flushes out toxins in our body. Toxins are probably the number one reason why people can not lose weight quickly when they eat healthy foods. Apples only work to your advantage when they are eaten raw, so dipping them into caramel sauce or cooking them into a pie will not keep the doctor away. Healthy Foods Tip #9. WaterIt may not be food but it is the most important part of your daily diet. Your body can not function properly if it is dehydrated, and most people do not drink as much as they should. Water also makes you feel full without any calories. Many times people reach for a snack when all they really need is a glass of water. Along with a daily diet of the foods listed above, you need discipline and a willingness to reach your healthy weight loss goals. Most people get discouraged with losing weight when they fail to grasp the concept of living a healthy lifestyle. Once you develop this mindset, eating healthy will be part of your daily routine…and battling weight gain will be a thing of the past. We also understand that the modern world demands a successful career and a fast paced tech savvy social life. These demands also place such an unbalanced burden on people in the area of physical appearance.
The career, social and physical aspect can be so crushing that proper health practices suffer as a result. Not everyone can keep up with the blistering pace set by those at the very top. It can be quite brutal; more fall off the wagon than not. After a winter of hibernation, many are looking to shed those extra pounds. Some do, and some do not.
You should check your diet and rid it of the following:
1. chips and dips
2. soda and sweet juices
3. fast foods
4. these are deadly combos to your health.
These daily combos will set you up for long term health challenges. Your body tends to store these items as fat, especially if you are sedentary. The scales tip, and before long you are battling an obesity problem.
In any healthy weight loss diet plan exercise should be an extremely important segment. The balance of a sound diet and regular exercise safeguards your body for the future. Simple things like:
1. walking after meals
2. half hour exercise per day
3. gym workout for an hour
4. adopting a five day a week exercise program.
Just these simple exercise tips incorporated into your lifestyle will serve you well and go a long way to staving off obesity.
It is easy to talk about what you should not eat, but let us consider some of the foods we should keep around our homes. When starting a healthy weight loss diet plan it is important to keep healthy food items in our storage cabinets. When the good foods are not readily available we tend to snack on fast foods and unhealthy quick foods.
Keep these items in storage at home at all times:
1. Water! Keep your favorite water on hand at all times. Remember, do not just have it readily available, drink it! It is always best to drink water at room temperature. Cold water tends to slow and impede the digestive process.
2. Soy Milk. Good for cereals. If you cannot handle this, try the powder form. That works better for me. I mix a pitcher of the powder and it goes great with my cereals and oatmeal. Stay away from cows milk. It is for calves.
3. Have fruit handy. I am a banana person. They fill you quicker than a bag of chips will.
4. Carrots and Broccoli. Get a vegetarian recipe for dip.
5. How about peanut butter. Spread that on your toast instead of butter.
6. Do you like eggs? Have you ever heard of Egg Beaters? They are an excellent alternative to eggs.
7. Bread. I am talking about the wholesome wheat bread. Never allow white bread to cross your lips.
8. Cheese. Make your own vegetarian cheese; it is great, tastes better too!
9. Brown rice. Great for a quick meal. Never white rice.
10. I did mention cereals earlier. Read the labels, watch for the sugar content. Start your healthy weight loss diet plan now. It is key to staving off obesity. Protect the back end of your life using this healthy weight loss diet plan.Best Smartphone Software

In July 2007 America’s population was estimated to be three hundred million meaning that at least eighteen hundred million of Americans are overweight. It appears that the odds are stacked against the average American when it comes to healthy weight loss. It is almost as though there is a conspiracy whose aim it is to keep us fat, stopping us from losing those unwanted pounds once and for all. In fact, in one of my recommended weight loss products, Dr Suzanne Gudakunst, maintains that there is such a conspiracy.
I’m certainly not in a position to know whether or not a conspiracy to keep us overweight exists, but I do know that there are too many junk food commercials that actively encourage us to eat things that are not healthy. The commercials are extremely successful, if the various fast food outlets scattering our highways are any indication. It seems there is much money to be made tempting us with burgers high in saturated fats and selling cheap sodas full of sugar.
In addition, many of us purchase the wrong types of food when doing grocery shopping. If we insist on purchasing things like sugary snacks and convenient TV dinners healthy weight loss is virtually impossible. There are almost always healthier options available for us to purchase. We need to take notice of the nutritional information printed on labels so that we are making informed choices.
It is easy to blame large corporations with their huge advertising budgets for our inability to maintain healthy weight loss. But remember, they only advertise and supply these products because we buy them. Can we really expect them to be advertising healthy options if we don’t buy them.
So, in effect we need to change the way we eat. If, most of the time, we ate fruit, vegetables, lean meat and fish, flavoured with fresh herbs and spices the occasional TV dinners and sugary snacks would not be a big deal.
If you are overweight I recommend that you start replacing your unhealthy food choices with healthy ones. But, replace things gradually. If, for arguments sake, you drink five cans of coke a day, cut it down to four and replace the fifth one with water. Do this for a while and then cut down to four cokes and two waters. Keep cutting down until you are only having a coke a couple of times a week. This same technique will work for any of your unhealthy food choices.
Forget sheer willpower. It doesn’t work, mainly because it is highly likely you are actually addicted to some of those unhealthy foods. You will have much more success by weaning yourself gradually.
By the same token never give up on your goal of healthy weight. I have heard many stories of people giving up simply because they happened to break their diet on one occasion. If you do break your diet, just forgive yourself and start over. Do not use it as excuse to give up.
