Have you tried every trick in the book to find an easy healthy weight loss program? I’ve been there and done that. I’ve tried skipping meals and high intensity weight training sessions but was unable to have any success until, one day I discovered information that’s openly available to everyone. You know what that information was? It was that the dieting portion of your program accounts for approximately 80% of your results! It was like a “light bulb” that turned on when I found this out. With this information I realized that even though I was working out everyday as long as my diet wasn’t maintained properly I wouldn’t have any significant weight loss. I also discovered that skipping meals or cutting specific foods out of my diet such as potato chips would lead to me overeating when I did eat them. I learned that you shouldn’t skip meals or specific foods. You just have to reduce your portions and when you can have unhealthy foods reduce those portions and have them less frequently. So, what’s this easy healthy weight loss program that I’ve found? Well, it all depends on your eating habits, your lifestyle and physical health. So, what’s good for me might not be good for you but a great dieting program can enable you to have easy healthy weight loss by allowing you to small changes in your diet with great results. You want a dieting program that provides flexibility and customization because my physically strengths, needs and weaknesses are different from yours. What I have found out is that by choosing the proper dieting program you can experience weight loss because your diet is responsible for 80% of your results. Therefore, I have since put heavy emphasis on what I eat and my food portions. That is not to say you don’t have to do any exercising but even if, you exercise everyday but your diet is terrible chances you won’t have any sustained long term weight loss. On the contrary if, you have a good dieting program but do minimal to no exercising you can have easy healthy weight loss. Ideally, you would want to include both but if, you specifically have weight loss as your primary goal than I believe you don’t have to do any exercising if, you’re unable to. How do you choose a dieting program that’s right for you? Make sure it’s flexible, simple in preparation and is affordable. This will allow you make minimal changes to your eating habits and budget but will produce great weight loss results. What do I mean by being flexible? It should have many combinations of foods and meals that can suit your taste. Simple in preparation means that it shouldn’t take you hours upon hours to prepare the meals because, you know and I know in life sometimes you only have 5 to 15minutes before you have to get to that appointment, your job or to your children’s activity program. Affordable means that the dieting program shouldn’t cost you $1000’s upon $1000’s of dollars. There are many programs that work and are available for under $100. You’ll be amazed when you find a dieting program that fits these criteria’s how easy healthy weight loss can occur and just imagine how happy, healthy and attractive you’ll be if, you pick the right program! If so then I will help you out as I’ll be discussing the healthiest weight loss diet you can find. The diet is called calorie shifting and as you’ll see its incredibly effective and easy to do as well. Healthy weight loss can be achieved using this effective fat loss diet.So it’s just another diet, why should I care? Its simple actually, you should care for these reasons.1. It’s easy to follow and continue. 2. Allows you to keep eating and actually drop some pounds while you’re at it. 3. It’s been proven to actually keep more weight off than any other diet when you come off the diet! 4. You actually burn more fat by eating, according to the guidelines of course.Ok sounds interesting? How does it work?To perform calorie shifting you need to follow a system of eating where you essentially confuse your metabolism so it is never quite sure when to stop burning fat. Its so effective because you are constantly changing what types of foods you eat and at which times of the day you eat them. You see when you eat the same foods everyday in the same routine even if they’re low calorie or low fat or any other common dieting routine you essentially reveal to your body what it is you eat on a daily basis and your body says “ok so I’ll increase your metabolism just enough at this point in the day and then shutdown so we can conserve those precious calories”.Yes its true, unless you do something out of the ordinary your bodies first impression is to conserve whatever it is you eat. However if you eat carbs one day for breakfast then fat the next day and then protein the next etc, your body doesn’t know whats going on, but it does know that it needs to keep the metabolism up because the calories coming in are too diverse and at times to great to just sit idle. So your metabolism gets boosted, and this continues at all times of the day. This sounds like it could get confusing to keep track of, but here’s the great news! There are calorie shifting software programs that do all the thinking for you. The exact food options available to you are displayed and you’ll know exactly what to eat at any time of the day without having to think at all!Lose 15 Pounds in Two Weeks by EATING MORE! Continue Reading »One of the most common obstacles for a person trying to lose weight is emotional eating. Munching down a bag of potato chips out of boredom, depression or even happiness can be a serious detriment to anyone’s weight loss efforts. It’s not easy to overcome because life is full of events that make us change our emotions. You could be a month into your healthy weight loss program and feeling very good about it, then all of a sudden you get downsized from your job. The first thing you do is become depressed and drive yourself to the grocery store to get a package of double stuff oreos. You know comfort foods like this will only make you more depressed in the morning, but you do it anyway. If you want to be the kind of person who leaves the cookies on the shelf and focus instead on turning negatives into positives, the 6 tips below can help you. Emotional Eating Tip #1: Be PreparedAs I said before, no matter what kind of life you have, there will always be something about to happen that will make you sad or happy. These moments must be expected and the solution approached with caution. What do you do when you see a speed bump in the road? You automatically slow down because you know the consequences. You were prepared because you expected it. Just like you read road signs when you drive, there are signs in life that will tell you when something is about to happen. Emotional Eating Tip #2: DistractionsWhenever you are overjoyed or depressed about something, have a list of activities ready to take your mind off emotional eating. Keeping your hands busy doing anything besides reaching into a box of Cheez-its, is going to help you overcome your shift in emotions without eating. For me it is closing myself off to the world and practicing my guitar, playing a video game, or going for a long walk with my Ipod. By the time I am finished with any of these activities, I have usually found a solution or at least have calmed down. Emotional Eating Tip #3: Drink A Bottle Of WaterThis does not sound like something you want to do when you are extremely happy or angry, but water fills you up and makes you feel more full. Anyone on a healthy weight loss program should have a bottle of water handy at all times anyway. When you feel the urge to eat off your program, drink the water. Trust me, it works like a charm. A lot of times people mistake hunger for thirst. Your mind might be tricking you and telling you that you need to eat, when you just might need a drink. Emotional Eating Tip #4: Determine What Is WhatDo you crave a bowl of Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream or do you just need someone to talk to? When you’re struggling with a craving or feel driven to eat mindlessly, stop and determine what you are feeling. Condition yourself to learn the difference between physical and emotional hunger. I crave eating junk food any time something good happens and when something bad happens I tend to avoid eating. But when I am truly hungry, I will eat healthy foods. Emotional Eating Tip #5: Focus On The Consequences Of Your ActionsIf you stop and think for a minute what that Hershey bar will feel like after you eat it, you might start building up the will power to put it down. You know you will feel bad emotionally because you threw your diet off track, so eat something healthy and get full on that instead. Think about how tomorrow you won’t even remember the taste of it. Maybe that will make you want to eat the carrots instead. Emotional Eating Tip #6: Eat In The Same PlaceRemember the kitchen table? You know that piece of furniture that your monthly bills are usually scattered over? Clear it off and make a promise to yourself to only do your eating there, with no distractions like the tv, radio or newspaper. I know this is the age of multi-tasking, but a lot of emotional eating occurs when we are distracted. Mindless eating in front of the tv is the worst, especially when it is done late at night. No matter what kind of life you have, there will always be problems, even people who are in great physical shape. They may be able to arrive at their problems looking slim and trim, but they have just as many obstacles as a person struggling to lose weight. No matter who you are, you must work your emotions by expecting these obstacles. By stopping emotional eating, you can eliminate about half of the obstacles people face trying to lose weight. Continue Reading »How many times have you started a “supposed” healthy weight loss diet only to find yourself going back to your old eating habits a week later? You have good intentions, but every diet seems to limit what you eat to bland salads and tasteless fat-free versions of your favorite foods. You get to the point where you feel like this isn’t the kind of lifestyle you want for yourself, so you revert back to the foods that make you happy. If this has ever happened to you, don’t feel bad. Lots of people go through the same experience, myself included. I spent $2,000 on Nutri-Systems only to lose 60 pounds and gain 80 pounds right back. I got so tired of eating that cardboard tasting food they have, that I went right back to eating the same foods that made me put on the weight in the first place. What was missing was eating real food that did not give me the feeling that I was on “diet” and making the decision to lead to a healthy lifestyle. I finally lost that 70 pounds about 15 years ago and have kept it off ever since, and I can eat cheesecake as a desert choice on top of it! Why did it work that one time and not all the others? Because I realized that I needed to live a healthy lifestyle beyond making smart choices about food on a daily basis. No, cheesecake is not a smart choice for weight loss. But it doesn’t matter as long as I’m not eating it at every meal! Basically it all comes down to proper nutrition. When you give your body the right nutrients on a daily basis, even if it’s just for one meal, it allows you to cheat on occasion. No, I cannot eat cheesecake 3 times a day and expect to stay slim and fit. No one can unless you are under 20 and can burn calories faster than you can eat. But as you get older and your metabolism slows down, it does not mean you have to get fat. It just means you have to change your way of thinking and adopt a healthy lifestyle. My weight loss and ideal weight maintenance is the direct result of several choices I make on a daily basis, but it all started with one soy-based protein meal replacement shake. Skeptical as I was, I tried it and it worked because it had a money-back guarantee. The reason it worked was because it provided my body with 2,000 calories worth of proper nutrition in only 200 calories. That means that I would have had to eat a huge meal to get all the nutrients I got in the one shake. At first, I replaced two meals a day. Then, once I reached my ideal weight, I switched to just replacing one meal. Since I knew this was the best nutrition possible, I choose to have my shake in the morning because my body has been working hard all night processing what I ate during the day and needs to be able to get instant nutrition. This is not possible by eating ham and eggs for breakfast. This has allowed me to eat sensibly throughout the day as I wish, and then splurge for dinner if I want to. Just as long as I go back to my nutritious shake every morning, everything works out fine. I know what you are thinking…you have to spend the rest of your life drinking a bland protein shake every morning for breakfast? The answer to that question is yes…and no. First of all, the shake comes in many flavors and can be prepared lots of different ways…and it tastes delicious! Most people skip breakfast…I drink a smoothie instead. Once you get the right nutrition in your body, you begin to feel so good that you can’t imagine starting off a day any other way. Remember when I said losing weight and keeping it off for good requires making healthy lifestyle choices? This shake I take every morning is one of them. Another is 30 minutes of cardio-vascular exercise every day. Just like drinking the shake, this became just as routine in my schedule as watching tv every night. It is possible to lose weight without exercise, but when you add it into the mix you are doing yourself a huge favor. Notice how I have not said anything yet about counting calories or weighing myself? That’s because it’s not necessary when you feed your body proper nutrition on a daily basis. Those are things that yo-yo dieters focus on and they never lose weight. They would rather follow fad diet and after fad diet to try to take the easy way out…but it’s not so easy is it? Cheaters never prosper and it’s no different for losing weight. You must learn to develop and healthy lifestyle. Diet and fat free versions of your favorite foods are often worse than the fatty versions because they are not natural. Anything all-natural is a smarter choice than something altered for the sake of convincing you to buy it for weight loss. The key is moderation. Part of living a healthy lifestyle is realizing you do not need to eat pizza and fettucini alfredo every time you sit down for a meal. It all comes down to making intelligent decisions about what you eat and how often you eat it. In order for you to lose weight and keep it off for good without constantly being on a diet, you have to decide that you need to develop the mindset of a person living a healthy lifestyle. Start with getting proper nutrition into your body, then begin making small daily choices in the right direction with exercise and food. Soon you will realize that a diet is nothing more than something that used to hold you back. Continue Reading »Everywhere you look, prices are going up and people are more strapped for cash than ever. You can not walk into a grocery store anymore and leave without spending at least ten dollars on things that used to cost mere pocket change. Milk. Bread. Eggs. Butter. It all adds up so quickly now, and people are realizing they need to cut costs somewhere. Unfortunately, most health foods are more expensive than pre-packaged foods that are not as good for our bodies. The first thing people will do is start eating Tuna Helper for dinner instead of chicken, steak or shrimp. If you are on a healthy weight loss program, and you do not want to eat Tuna Helper but want to save money, what do you do? If you think that a $100 weight loss program is not an option, you may want to think again! I personally lost 70 pounds in 3 months and have kept it off for over 15 years. After spending $2,000 at Nutri-Systems only to lose 60 pounds and gain 80, a $100 a month weight loss program was the last thing I wanted to buy. But since it came with a money back guarantee, I gave it a shot. Not only did it work, but I actually saved money! Here’s how… The first thing you must realize is that no healthy weight loss program is worth the money unless it is all-natural. What you put into your body is going to determine how you look and feel. There is no way around it. The majority of people who eat donuts every morning for breakfast are fat and unhealthy. Those who eat oatmeal instead are usually thin and healthy. Since the program I tried was all-natural soy-based protein meal replacement shakes with target vitamins, I was able to lose weight in a healthy way. Not only did I lose weight, but my severe asthma and allergies cleared up and I was able to get off all of my prescription medications. When you feed your body proper nutrition, it has the ability to heal itself and perform better. Each shake I drank was a meal replacement. The nutrition in each one was the equivalent of eating a 2,000 calorie meal, but I was only consuming 200 calories. You can easily see how this helps a person lose weight. At first I replaced two meals a day until I was at my desired weight, then I switched to just replacing one to maintain that weight. Why stop giving my body good nutrition just because I reached my weight loss goal? A meal replacement means you are not spending money at McDonalds, Starbucks or IHOP anymore, where you spend a minimum of $50 a week, and in the most generous circumstances. Most healthy weight loss programs cost about $100 a month, so you would be saving money and getting healthy at the same time. Even replacing one meal a day would still be cheaper than if you were not trying to lose weight but creating a healthy lifestyle. I know what you are thinking. Who wants to drink a bland milk shake for breakfast when you could be eating an oversized plate of caramel pecan waffles with syrup and whipped cream? The answer to that question is two-fold. First of all, the soy-protein shakes I drink are not bland. They come in a variety of flavors in powder form, and I can be as creative as I want to be with them. I do not even need to make a shake, I can sprinkle it over cereal or mix it in yogurt. The second answer to that question is that what you eat is a matter of choice. Sure you can go out and eat those waffles, but you will not lose weight if you do. You spend about $10 to gain a few pounds. It will taste nice and yummy for the first few bites until you stuff yourself, but then you will regret not having the shake a few hours later when your blood sugar drops down lower than when you woke up. Since most healthy weight loss programs come in a month supply, you must pay for the whole month in advance. This is where most people think they can not afford to eat healthy, and it simply is not true. Do the math. Replacing two meals a day will save you how much money? About $150 if all you spend is $5 a meal. How much does each meal replacement cost if the total price is about $100 for the month? About $1.60. Is $1.60 per meal for a healthy weight loss program worth more than spending $5 a meal to gain weight? Only a person who is not serious about losing weight would say no. No matter what healthy weight loss program you are contemplating, you must first be committed to living a healthy lifestyle or else your money will be wasted. Once you make the decision to stick with it, weigh all our options and do the math. When times are rough like they are now, your first observation might be that you can not afford it. When you break it down meal for meal, then add up all the health benefits you will also get, you will probably find that you can make it work to your advantage. Continue Reading »Have you ever been on a diet and found yourself being totally confused about how to read food labels? Not knowing this information could be the difference between weight loss success and failure. More often than not, people who are trying to achieve a healthy weight loss will not be able to do so just because they believe everything they read. Most of us think that foods labeled “low fat” will help us lose weight. If this were really true, why didn’t anyone from the fat free diet craze of the 1980’s lose weight and keep it off? You may be shocked to discover that low fat foods may do the opposite. Yes, that is right! They can actually make us gain weight! Since the driving force behind any weight loss fad is for the manufacturer to make money, low-fat labels purposely prompt people to overindulge in several different ways. I know you are asking yourself how such a farce can actually be allowed to happen, right? All I have to say to that is keep reading! Reading Food Labels Tip #1: Portion DistortionMost people believe that an appropriate serving size for low-fat food is 30 percent larger than the full-fat version. When this happens, nearly 50 percent more calories are consumed. No matter how much fat a product says it does or does not have, remember it is all about calories. Think of it this way. Which is better for weight loss: 1,000 fat calories from butter or 1,000 fat calories from apples? Neither! They will both give you 1,000 calories. Granted, the apples will give you lots of other vitamins and minerals that will make you healthier than the butter will, but you won’t weigh any less! Reading Food Labels Tip #2: Ingredient ShiftMost of the time when fat content is reduced, carbohydrate and sugars are increased. What happens when carbohydrates and sugars don’t get burned off? Your body turns them into fat so it will have a reserve of fuel. The bottom line is that you must look at all the ingredients, not just the big text on the front of the package that says NO FAT. Diet soda is much more harmful to your body than regular soda because of the nasty ingredients they have to add to make it diet. This goes for NO CARB and NO TRANS FAT foods as well. If a company making a product feels that it needs to grab your attention by promoting the latest weight loss fad in bold letters across the front of their package, chances are it probably is not a good choice. Reading Food Labels Tip #3: No Label Is KingWhat kinds of foods do not come pre-packaged with a label full of ingredients? Fruits and vegetables. What kinds of foods are all natural and grown from the earth we live on? Fruits and vegetables. What kinds of foods do you know will help you lose weight even though you would rather grab the box of fat free Oreos? Fruits and vegetables. Not that it needs to be said at this point, but if you can not determine if the label is saying something good or bad, put it down and head to the produce department. Fruits and vegetables are the most ideal foods you can eat for a healthy weight loss. What about protein, you say? Think soy. I lost 70 pounds and have kept it off for 15 years when I switched to a soy-protein based way of eating. Label or not, the key to a healthy weight loss is living a healthy lifestyle. Making smart decisions about what you eat, as well as exercising every day, will allow you to lead a label free life. Smart is choosing to eat an apple instead of a donut. Smart is choosing to drink a soy-based protein shake instead of a caramel whip cream latte from Starbucks. Smart is drinking green tea instead of diet Pepsi. Remember… for things to change, you have got to change. Continue Reading »We all know how important protein is to any diet, whether you are trying to achieve a healthy weight loss or not. Certain fad diets tell people its OK to go out and eat as much greasy bacon as you want, as long as you stay away from those killer carbohydrates. As you probably have already figured out, this type of diet does not work. The main reason is that the source of protein comes from animal fats, and eating too much of it will take its toll on your health. Be very thankful that we have soy in our world. It is the healthy alternative to animal protein for many many reasons. The incorporation of even just a small amount of soy protein into the diet every day is beneficial in the prevention of all kinds of diseases. What does that have to do with losing weight? Everything! The key to healthy weight loss is proper nutrition. Once your body is healthy on a daily basis, it can perform miracles. Living a healthy lifestyle means choosing soy over bacon when you want to give your body protein fuel. When you feed your body the right way, you will get the results you want. Soy contains more protein than milk without the saturated fat or cholesterol. Soya beans are the only beans to be considered a complete protein because they contain all eight essential amino acids. Soy protein contains high levels of a substance called Tyrosine, which helps to maintain our alertness and mental energy without the need for excess calories. Soy is a low-glycemic index food which helps regulate blood-sugar and insulin fluctuations. This helps you to feel more satisfied and less hungry until your next meal, which is beneficial for weight management and control. Some studies even indicate that soy may stimulate the metabolism! How cool is that! Soy also helps reduce the amount of fat that is stored in your body by converting fewer calories into fat from the food that you consume. Soy protein can also control insulin levels therefore reducing the frequency of sugar cravings. Since your body will feel more satisfied and less hungry, this will also reduce the overindulgent eating. Soy also enhances energy levels and building muscle mass in a healthy way. Muscles burn energy during daily activities and exercise. Increased muscle mass burns more calories. Since soy increases the speed at which the fat cells burn the fat stored in the body, it once again affects your metabolism. Exercise is not mandatory for a healthy weight loss, but even the smallest workout every day can accelerate your weight loss efforts. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise…until I began drinking soy-based protein shake meal replacements. I lost 70 pounds in 4 months and have kept it off for over 15 years now. The best part is that because of the benefits of soy, I can now exercise every day without any breathing problems. I was also able to get rid of all my prescription medications on top of it. Do I have to drink a soy-based shake every day? No, I do not have to. If I want to go back to being overweight with breathing problems, I suppose I could stop using soy. But why would I ever want to do that? As I stated before, the key to a healthy weight loss and maintaining an ideal weight is the willingness to lead a healthy lifestyle. You can not lose weight and expect to go back to old bad eating habits without suffering the consequences. A great advantage to living a healthy lifestyle is that you do not need to give up the foods you love. You can sill eat them, just not as often. You must replace some of those foods with healthier alternatives. The road to a healthy weight loss is littered with all kinds of snack wrappers, like soy nuts, protein bars and fruit. (OK, fruit usually doesn’t need a wrapper, but you get my point. Since fad diets, unbalanced diets, diet pills, diet supplements, weight loss surgery and other short term weight loss methods are the cheaters way to lose weight, why bother? Cheaters never prosper and there is no substitute for proper nutrition. Take advantage of the many benefits soy can give to you and you will soon find yourself living the kind of life you deserve. Continue Reading »Anyone struggling to lose weight may be focusing all of their energy on the wrong thing…food! It is equally important to make sure you are drinking liquids that accelerate healthy weight loss. Staying hydrated is essential for your body. What you drink can effect your mood and focus not to mention your health. If you pick the right drinks, you will benefit from the nutrients, antioxidants and proteins that will help with a healthy weight loss. Americans in general are problem drinkers. We crave high-sugar, high-calorie drinks like sodas and smoothies. Over 20 percent of American’s calorie intake comes from drinks such as soda pop, fruit punches, and the oh-so trendy Starbuck lattes. We are becoming obese because of all these extra calories we do not need. The next time you feel thirsty and have trouble determining whether or not a drink is healthy, refer to the list below. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #1: Water Water is a crucial part of healthy weight loss success. Forget flavored energy drinks and expensive bottled water. Remember the free stuff that comes out of your kitchen sink? We all grew up on this stuff and no one became unhealthy because of it, yet for some reason we flock to the store to buy it in a bottle just because a television commerical tells us to. If you think your tap water is full of impurities, buy a Brita water purifying pitcher or some type of water filter. The main point here is that pure water is healthier than any kind of diet soda or energy drink you can pay for. Drink up to 8 glasses a day and you will notice an acceleration in your weight loss. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #2: Pomegranate Juice Drinking concentrated pomegranate juice may reduce cholesterol and blood pressure while slowing down LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol) oxidation. Because they contain beneficial antioxidants, they rid your body of harmful free radicals that can slow down any weight loss program. The healthier your body is, the better it can perform. Pomegranate juice is safe to drink, but just like anything else you should not over-indulge. Most studies have shown that a daily helping of 1.5 oz. of pomegranate juice is the most beneficial. Anti-oxidants are found in bright colored fruits like red grapes. Unlike pomegranate juice, be careful when drinking grape juice. Manufacturers tend to add a lot of sugar into fruit juices so they seem healthy, but they really are not. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #3: Green Tea Green tea is one of the drinks I use on a daily basis that contributes to helping me keep an ideal weight after losing 70 pounds 15 years ago. Just like pomegranite juice, it is full of powerful antioxidants that give your body the very best fuel a drink can possibly give. Depending on the manufacturer, green tea comes in all kinds of flavors. One cup of green tea every morning gives me enough energy to last all day long. It is a natural energy, unlike the sugar rush you get from fitness drinks and coffee, so you never feel let down as the day goes on. Energy is obviously important for weight loss because the more you move around, the more calories you will burn. Healthy Weight Loss Drink #4: Soy-Based Protein Shakes Along with green tea, soy-based protein shakes are responsible for my weight loss and weight maintenance. Imagine getting 2,000 calories worth of nutrition in a 200 calorie smoothie. Your body gets what it needs without the excess baggage that comes with eating tons of food. It is the closest thing to a magic weight loss potion that you will find. Depending on how much weight you need to lose, this drink acts as a meal replacement. Obese people who need to lose over 100 pounds should obviously replace each meal with a shake, and those maintaining weight should replace at least one. I would never let a day go by without one of these powerful drinks. Why would I? I have been at my ideal weight and medication free ever since I introduced them into my diet. The bottom line here is that you must pay attention to what you drink as much as what you eat if you are trying to lose or maintain a healthy weight. Start by replacing what you are now drinking with any or all of the suggestions above. Living a healthy lifestyle is the key to reaching your healthy weight loss goals. Continue Reading »In today’s world of highly advertised fad diets, it is very difficult for us to know which foods are actually healthy and which foods are not. This program says not to eat an apple, while this other program tells us it keeps the doctor away. Once and for all, we need to know which foods are nutritious so we can all jump off the weight loss roller coaster. Before I get into the details, it is important to stress that weight loss without proper nutrition is not the road you want to take. No magic pill will ever give you the benefits of eating properly. Stop looking for short cuts and get serious about your health. It is the only way to live a lifestyle that is free of the threats of disease, poor health and obesity. Healthy Foods Tip #1: Green VegetablesVegetables such as spinach and cabbage are very significant in maintaining a healthy body. They are rich in vitamins and minerals. How do they help accelerate weight loss? They are water-rich, which means you are actually filling yourself up with liquids instead of fatty calories. Healthy Foods Tip #2: Fatty FishDid you read that right? Yes, it says fatty! Oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and sardines have omega-3 fats. Despite all the hoopla surrounding the fat-free weight loss craze, your body does in fact need good fat for optimal weight loss performance. Omega-3 fats also takes care of our heart. It prevents stroke and lowers bad cholesterol in our body. Healthy Foods Tip #3: Green Tea Anti-oxidants rid our bodies of free radials that can cause damage to our cells and slow the process of healthy weight loss. Green tea offers such a powerful supply of anti-oxidants and vitamins that it has been known to accelerate metabolism by drinking only one cup per day. Tomatoes, red grapes and blueberries are also beneficial for the same reasons, but on a smaller scale. Healthy Foods Tip #4: Citrus fruitsOranges, lemons, limes and other citrus fruits are all high in Vitamin C. That helps to prevents colds, asthma and arthritis. What happens when your body is functioning without illness? It performs better! When your body gets the right nutrition, it can perform its own miracles…like giving you more energy and burning off extra weight. Healthy Foods Tip #5: CarrotsHave you ever heard someone say carrots were unhealthy? I guess they would be if you ate tons of them every day, just like anything else that is abused. The reality is that carrots are good source of Vitamin A and promotes better eyesight. It only takes a half cup worth to work like magic to accelerate healthy weight loss. Healthy Foods Tip #6. BananasThis fruit is so nutrition that even monkeys know it is good for them. It can help cure ulcers, diarrhea and stomach cramps because it is high in potassium. If you sweat a lot and need energy, grab a banana. Many athletes consume bananas for energy and alertness. Have you ever seen an overweight monkey or athlete? Healthy Foods Tip #7: SoyThe soybean is as close to a magic weight loss pill as you will ever find. No, you can not pop them into your mouth and watch the pounds melt away, but when you add soy into your daily diet, you will be amazed to see how quickly your health and weight loss improve at the same time. Soy-based protein smoothies helped me to lose 70 pounds in 4 months 15 years ago. And yes, I still have the weight off! Healthy Foods Tip #8 ApplesAn apple a day keeps the doctor away. It has vitamin C and pectin that flushes out toxins in our body. Toxins are probably the number one reason why people can not lose weight quickly when they eat healthy foods. Apples only work to your advantage when they are eaten raw, so dipping them into caramel sauce or cooking them into a pie will not keep the doctor away. Healthy Foods Tip #9. WaterIt may not be food but it is the most important part of your daily diet. Your body can not function properly if it is dehydrated, and most people do not drink as much as they should. Water also makes you feel full without any calories. Many times people reach for a snack when all they really need is a glass of water. Along with a daily diet of the foods listed above, you need discipline and a willingness to reach your healthy weight loss goals. Most people get discouraged with losing weight when they fail to grasp the concept of living a healthy lifestyle. Once you develop this mindset, eating healthy will be part of your daily routine…and battling weight gain will be a thing of the past.
