How many times have you started a “supposed” healthy weight loss diet only to find yourself going back to your old eating habits a week later? You have good intentions, but every diet seems to limit what you eat to bland salads and tasteless fat-free versions of your favorite foods. You get to the point where you feel like this isn’t the kind of lifestyle you want for yourself, so you revert back to the foods that make you happy. If this has ever happened to you, don’t feel bad. Lots of people go through the same experience, myself included. I spent $2,000 on Nutri-Systems only to lose 60 pounds and gain 80 pounds right back. I got so tired of eating that cardboard tasting food they have, that I went right back to eating the same foods that made me put on the weight in the first place. What was missing was eating real food that did not give me the feeling that I was on “diet” and making the decision to lead to a healthy lifestyle. I finally lost that 70 pounds about 15 years ago and have kept it off ever since, and I can eat cheesecake as a desert choice on top of it! Why did it work that one time and not all the others? Because I realized that I needed to live a healthy lifestyle beyond making smart choices about food on a daily basis. No, cheesecake is not a smart choice for weight loss. But it doesn’t matter as long as I’m not eating it at every meal! Basically it all comes down to proper nutrition. When you give your body the right nutrients on a daily basis, even if it’s just for one meal, it allows you to cheat on occasion. No, I cannot eat cheesecake 3 times a day and expect to stay slim and fit. No one can unless you are under 20 and can burn calories faster than you can eat. But as you get older and your metabolism slows down, it does not mean you have to get fat. It just means you have to change your way of thinking and adopt a healthy lifestyle. My weight loss and ideal weight maintenance is the direct result of several choices I make on a daily basis, but it all started with one soy-based protein meal replacement shake. Skeptical as I was, I tried it and it worked because it had a money-back guarantee. The reason it worked was because it provided my body with 2,000 calories worth of proper nutrition in only 200 calories. That means that I would have had to eat a huge meal to get all the nutrients I got in the one shake. At first, I replaced two meals a day. Then, once I reached my ideal weight, I switched to just replacing one meal. Since I knew this was the best nutrition possible, I choose to have my shake in the morning because my body has been working hard all night processing what I ate during the day and needs to be able to get instant nutrition. This is not possible by eating ham and eggs for breakfast.  This has allowed me to eat sensibly throughout the day as I wish, and then splurge for dinner if I want to. Just as long as I go back to my nutritious shake every morning, everything works out fine. I know what you are thinking…you have to spend the rest of your life drinking a bland protein shake every morning for breakfast? The answer to that question is yes…and no. First of all, the shake comes in many flavors and can be prepared lots of different ways…and it tastes delicious! Most people skip breakfast…I drink a smoothie instead. Once you get the right nutrition in your body, you begin to feel so good that you can’t imagine starting off a day any other way. Remember when I said losing weight and keeping it off for good requires making healthy lifestyle choices? This shake I take every morning is one of them. Another is 30 minutes of cardio-vascular exercise every day. Just like drinking the shake, this became just as routine in my schedule as watching tv every night. It is possible to lose weight without exercise, but when you add it into the mix you are doing yourself a huge favor. Notice how I have not said anything yet about counting calories or weighing myself? That’s because it’s not necessary when you feed your body proper nutrition on a daily basis. Those are things that yo-yo dieters focus on and they never lose weight. They would rather follow fad diet and after fad diet to try to take the easy way out…but it’s not so easy is it? Cheaters never prosper and it’s no different for losing weight. You must learn to develop and healthy lifestyle. Diet and fat free versions of your favorite foods are often worse than the fatty versions because they are not natural. Anything all-natural is a smarter choice than something altered for the sake of convincing you to buy it for weight loss. The key is moderation. Part of living a healthy lifestyle is realizing you do not need to eat pizza and fettucini alfredo every time you sit down for a meal. It all comes down to making intelligent decisions about what you eat and how often you eat it. In order for you to lose weight and keep it off for good without constantly being on a diet, you have to decide that you need to develop the mindset of a person living a healthy lifestyle. Start with getting proper nutrition into your body, then begin making small daily choices in the right direction with exercise and food. Soon you will realize that a diet is nothing more than something that used to hold you back. Variety is the spice of life, and being content with living a healthy lifestyle is achievable when you can think outside of the box. When you are on a healthy weight loss program, the experience can get a bit bland sometimes if you don’t use your creativity to find ways to mix it up. Too many people quit before they give themselves a chance to find happiness with making healthy decisions on a daily basis. When it comes right down to it, there are things that you must do on any healthy weight loss program. The most important thing is proper nutrition. For me, it is in the form of a hot cup of green tea followed by a soy-based protein drink and vitamins every morning. That is how I lost over 70 pounds 15 years ago and that is how I have maintained an ideal weight ever since. What keeps me going outside of that? Variety! Once you have a firm grasp of what it takes to lose weight, you can begin using that knowledge to find different ways to get the same results. That way you are not eating the same meals and exercising the same way at the same times every single day. It’s great to have a routine, but if you don’t have variety, things can get very bland very fast. Here are 3 steps to help you add Variety to your healthy weight loss program. Step #1: Stick With What You EnjoyYou will never stick with something unless you find ways to include the things you love to do. If eating pizza is something you love, then you should not feel like you have to eliminate it just because it won’t help you lose weight. Pizza and other junk food is fine if it is eaten occasionally. Set weight loss goals to reward yourself once or twice a week with foods you love that might not have the greatest nutritional value. Just don’t eat them every day! Since exercise is a vital part of living a healthy lifestyle, adding variety in into your workouts is also beneficial. Not only does it allow you to avoid boredom, you’ll also avoid injuries and plateaus as well. Make the routines of your favorite exercises fun and filled with a variety of movements. Doing the same routines and movements over and over again won’t keep your mind interested or your body proportioned properly. I alternate between jogging, bicycle riding and roller skating. Step #2: Be creativeOnce you have a firm grasp of the kinds of foods that make a healthy weight loss plan successful, be creative with them. The soy-based protein shake I eat every morning comes in powder form. You don’t think I drink the same flavor every day, do you? I use my creativity to invent new recipes. The same thing happens with meals. Nothing is worse than trying to learn how to eat better by always having to choose the same kind of food prepared the same exact way. The same goes true for the exercise part of your healthy weight loss program. I mentioned that I alternate between different activities during the week. One way I add creativity to it is by choosing different routes and different distances. I also work out with different friends and listen to different music on the days when I exercise alone. Don’t limit yourself to a gym either. Get outside and appreciate your surroundings. There is a lot to see out there! Step #3: Stay CuriousNo matter who many different foods there are to eat, there is always something you have never tried. Whether it’s the way something is prepared or a tropical fruit you’ve never heard of, being curious about trying new things will always help you add variety to your healthy weight loss program. What happens when you are curious about something you have never tried? You either like it or you do not…but you’ll never know unless you keep an open mind and learn to trust your curiosity. There are so many advantages to being curious when it comes to exercise. It is the only way to build new muscles you never knew you had, develop new skills and meet new friends to work out with. If you have ever seen someone do something that you do not think you would like, just try it for sure and then decide. You might find that it’s something you enjoy enough to add into your mixed bag of exercises just for the sake of having even more variety. Sticking to a healthy weight loss program is extremely difficult without variety. If it was an easy thing to do all by itself, everyone would be walking around healthy and thin. But it is not. It takes a certain kind of mindset to reach your goals and if you are afraid of giving up out of the sake of boredom, it is time to add a little variety into the mix. Follow the three steps above and you will probably find yourself so busy trying new things that you will forget you are even trying to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. We have all heard this a million times in our lives, but for some reason we would rather grab a double stuffed OREO when we feel like a snack. Would we be more inclined to eat this all-natural food if the saying was An Apple A Day Keeps The Fat Away? I think we would. We are a nation that puts quick weight loss fixes at the top of our priorities instead of focusing on our overall health. Living a healthy lifestyle is essential for not only losing weight, but maintaining an ideal weight so you do not need to trying fad diets. Apples have a variety of advantages that will keep us living healthy and fat free. Ever wonder why there are so many varieties of apples in the grocery store? It is because they are a perfect addition to your weight-loss plan and well-being for a number of reasons, and our earth wants us to be reminded of it. Weight Loss Tips #1: Apples are Low In Calories And FatCalories are calories, whether they are from healthy fruits and vegetables or a plate of fettucini alfredo. Since you lose weight when you burn off more calories than you consume, it is best to eat foods that will make you feel full without the calories. That is why an apple as a snack will not hurt your weight loss efforts like so many fat-free snack foods that are on the market. These foods contain lots of calories even though they are low in fat. Apples do not, thus killing two birds with one stone. Weight Loss Tips #2: Apples Contain CarbohydratesYes, you read that right. Contrary to popular belief, carbohydrates are not detrimental to weight loss. I am not recommending you go out and eat a box of Cheez-Its to get carbohydrates, however. Unlike packaged snack foods, apples will not trigger you to eat more than you need. Carbohydrates will give you lots of energy, and the more active you are the more calories you will burn. Since you want the fuel without preservatives and other artificial ingredients, apples are perfect. Weight Loss Tips #3: Apples Are A Good Source Of Fiber, Vitamins And MineralsThe healthier you are, the easier it is to lose weight. Your body can perform miracles when you provide it with proper nutrition. Fiber is a good way to curb your appetite, so eating an apple before a big meal will eliminate your desire to eat too much. Even though it’s not bursting with nutrients like some of the other fruits, apples are a good source of vitamin C, which in a round about way help prevent heart disease and the formation of some cancers. Weight Loss Tips #4: Apples Have A High Water ContentWhen a person is trying to lose weight, it is always best to focus on a diet of water-rich foods. Water is an extremely important part of weight loss, but not everyone likes to drink their share of it or they forget to. Eating water-rich foods like apples and other fruits will at least solve part of the problem if you have trouble remembering to drink enough liquids. Not only does water make you feel more full, but it does so without giving your body more calories. Weight Loss Tips #5: Apples Detoxifying The BodyApples contain enzymes that help your body digest food more efficiently. When your body is able to get rid of toxins, it becomes a healthier host for proper nutrition to do its magic. Apples are much cheaper than any detox program you will ever find, but you must remember that one apple is not going to make much of a difference. You need to make a habit of eating apples on a weekly basis if not daily, along with other foods that accelerate weight loss and promote good health. Since apples are low in calories and fat, and contain carbohydrates as well as fiber, vitamins and minerals, it is no wonder they can help you lose weight in different ways. Did I forget to mention that the fiber from apples helps you feel full longer because it expands in your stomach? Forgetting that probably has something to do with the fact that apples have even more advantages than our minds can remember. The most important part of losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is developing the mindset to support good habits like eating an apple instead of a Hershey bar. You have to be the kind of person who really believes that eating an apple will help you in all of these positive ways, and that the junk foods you are giving up as a consequence really are bad for you. Believing leads to action and action gets results. The kind of results you need for any healthy weight loss program all boils down to your beliefs. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of eating breakfast. People who take time for a morning meal consume fewer calories over the course of the day, have a stronger desire to exercise, and are less likely to be overweight or obese. People who skip breakfast are more likely to snack on junk food throughout the day, and overindugle on fatty meals for lunch and dinner. If you are thinking about devising a healthy weight loss plan of action, think breakfast! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You have probably heard this many times, and it’s true. Even the name says it all. It is meant to break the fast you give your body from not eating since you put your head down on the pillow the night before. How you eat when you wake up in the morning dictates how your day will go. If you are trying to implement a healthy weight loss program, eating a healthy breakfast makes the difference between success and failure. Just because breakfast is the most important meal of the day doesn’t grant you permission to go into a feeding frenzy. That’s exactly what Americas most popular breakfast restaurants are setting you up for, so make a conscious effort not to buy into it. They peddle fatty scrambled eggs, sugary muffins and donuts, and pancakes covered with enough syrup and whip cream to launch your blood sugar level up into outer space. Foods loaded with unhealthy fats, added sugars, and refined carbohydrates are not how you want to start your day, especially when you are trying to have a healthy weight loss. They zap your energy levels so you will feel lathargic, and tell your body to store fat instead of burning it. To help you avoid these morning mishaps, fill your cupboards with the following foods to ensure a successful and healthy weight loss. Healthy Weight Loss Breakfast Food #1: Soy-Protein ShakeThis is how I lost 70 pounds 15 years ago and have kept it off ever since. Imagine getting 2,000 calories worth of nutrition for about 180 calories without the fat and sugar. It’s the closest thing you can get to diet magic, and it’s the best way to begin every day. What happens when your body gets the right nutrition? It begins to heal itself in ways you never thought possible. Nothing on any restuarant breakfast menu is going to offer good health like that. Healthy Weight Loss Breakfast Food #2: Green TeaMaking sure you are well hydrated is an important part of breakfast, so why not give your body the best liquid possible? Unplug your coffee maker and find a different route to work that doesn’t pass by a Starbucks. One cup of green tea every morning will give you enough energy to last an entire day, and you will not get the jitters like you might from coffee. Want to know the best part about green tea? It helps your body actually speed up your metabolism! Try finding that weight loss benefit in a fatty, over-priced latte. Healthy Weight Loss Breakfast Food #3: OatmealRemember when you were a kid and your mother made you eat oatmeal instead of your favorite cereal? That’s because it was healthy…and it still is, no matter how you prepare it. OK, so you can’t dump tons of sugar on it and make it taste like Apple Jacks, that’s a given. But you can sweeten it with fresh fruit or cranberries and raisins to enhance the taste. Just because you are older now and can make your own decisions doesn’t mean your mother wasn’t right. Healthy Weight Loss Breakfast Food #4: Scrambled Eggs With Vegetables & SteakSo you say you want to splurge sometimes and eat a real American breakfast like the kind you get at a truck stop? I hear you loud and clear. There’s nothing wrong with wanting that…if you want to gain weight. How do you do it while sticking to your healthy weight loss plan? Be creative. Make yourself an egg beater omelet with fresh vegetables and lean meat. Just because a truck stop wants to serve you certain food in a greasy way doesn’t mean you can’t eat te same thing in a healthy way. Healthy Weight Loss Breakfast Food #5: Fresh Fruit With GranolaRemember that recent high-protein low-carbohydrate diet fad that came and went faster than you could say Atkins? No one is on it anymore, and no one is thinner or healther because of it. Don’t ever let anyone convince you that something like a fresh apple is bad for you. Your body needs carbohydrates and there are few healthier sources than fruit and granola. It makes a great substitute for high sugar cereals. If you can sprinkle some protein powder on top of it, it’s an even better way to start your day. So there you have it…5 of the best breakfasts you can eat for losing weight in a healthy, natural way. It’s not easy to change your taste pallete, but try these suggestions little by little as replacement for the high fat, high sugar choices that made you gain weight. Living a healthy lifestyle is essential for healthy weight loss, and choosing to eat smart for breakfast is the first step in the right direction. Eat more to weigh less. Those words are music to anyone’s ears who has ever tried to lose weight. It may not seem possible, but eating the right foods can help you drop pounds by revving your calorie burn and curbing cravings. You know that starving yourself isn’t a successful healthy weight loss plan, and who wants to eat bean sprouts and salads at every meal? If you begin adding the following super foods to your plate today, you will have a better chance of being slimmer and healthier in no time! Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #1: SteakBeef has a reputation of being a bad for our diet, but it’s a good choice for dinner when you want to shed unwanted pounds. People who include red meat into their diet generally lose more weight than those eating other foods of equal calories. As an added benefit, protein in steak helps retain muscle mass during weight loss. Want the best results? Go for the local organic beef. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #2: EggsEggs (including the yolk) can help you trim inches without harming your heart. An egg each morning can allow you to lose twice as many pounds as the alternative of a bagel breakfast with the same number of calories. Egg protein is quite filling, so as a result you eat less later in the day. Omelets and scrambles are obvious choices, but if you can’t cook before work, grab a soy-protein shake and save your eggs for the weekend. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #3: KaleBirds love it, and have you ever seen a fat bird? Kale should always find a place somewhere on your dinner plate. One cup contains only 34 calories while providing you with a hearty helping of iron and calcium. Not into kale’s earthy flavor? Try spinach as an alternative. It’s just as nutrient dense, but with a milder-taste. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #4: Buckwheat pastaForget all those diets that tell you carbohydrates are bad. You need them for fuel or else your body will start grabbing it from your muscles. Instead of going for plain noodles, try buckwheat. It is higher in fiber and unlike most carbohydrate-rich foods, it contains protein! These two nutrients make it very satiating, so it’s harder to overeat than regular pasta. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #5: PomegranatesPomegranate seeds are loaded with folate and disease-fighting antioxidants. They’re low in calories and high in fiber, so they satisfy your sweet tooth without ruining your healthy weight loss efforts. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #6: BeansBeans are a very good sources of protein, fiber and iron. Navy, White, Kidney and Lima beans are all fat-burning foods. The only ones that you should limit are those baked and refried because they contain tons of saturated fat and sugar. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #7: OatmealWhile it may not be the tastiest thing you can eat, oatmeal definitely has fat burning qualities. It helps lower your cholesterol level and blood cholesterol because of it’s abundance of soluble fiber. Just like beans, you can’t always go for Americanized version, you know the yummy apples and cinnamon version loaded with butter and sugar. If regular oatmeal tastes too bland, sweeten your bowl by adding fruit, honey or cranberries. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #8: Olive OilOlive oil is one of those good fats that your body needs. It’s so good, in fact, that it helps you burn fat and keeps your cholesterol down. Rich in monounsaturated fat, olive oil provides outstanding health benefits. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #9: Green TeaWant to talk about anti-oxidants? It doesn’t get any better than this. Green tea not only provides you with enough natural energy to last throughout the day, but it is loaded with antioxidants and helps accelerate your metabolism. Stop drinking 3 cups of coffee every morning and switch to one cup of this super food. You’ll watch your pounds melt away while feeling energetic at the same time. Of course, all of these foods should be accompanied with a daily exercise regimen in order for them to be the most effective for healthy weight loss. Cardiovascular exercise burns calories and building muscle burns fat. Once you condition yourself to make healthier food choices and exercise every day, you’ll be on your way to losing weight and keeping it off for good. When the times get tough, the tough get going. Everyone has heard this wisdom but very few people take the time to think about how they can use it to their advantage. No matter what your circumstances are, there is always something good that you can make out if it. With costs of everything around us rising to incredible heights, re-adjusting is a must. You may not think it’s possible, but there is no better time to begin a healthy lifestyle. That is the cornerstone to healthy weight loss, and you can use a lean purse to your advantage. Want to fit back into the clothes you never thought you could fit into again without spending tons of money on a gym membership? It’s totally possible! Here are 4 tips on how rising costs can help you achieve healthy weight loss: Healthy Weight Loss Tip #1: Get on Your Bike And RideHow much does gasoline cost per gallon these days? It is absolutely horrific to think that it took roughly 100 years for us to get to the first dollar per gallon, and then only 5 years to get to the second, 2 years to get to the third, and one year later we are at a whopping $4! It is time to tell the oil companies that we have alternative transportation to the grocery store, post office and bank. Save your gas money by dusting off that old bicycle that has been sitting in the garage with flat tires for the past five years. Plan out a route that will allow you to do run your errands the old fashioned way. Not only will you save money, you’ll be getting daily exercise without having to pay for a gym membership. Exercise is a vital part of a healthy lifestyle, and although it is not absolutely necessary for healthy weight loss, it certainly speeds up the process. Healthy Weight Loss Tip #2: Meal ReplacementsI lost 70 pounds in 4 months and have kept it off for over 15 years. One of my tricks was that I began a healthy weight loss program designed around replacing expensive, artery clogging meals with a soy-based protein shake. Regardless of how much weight you need to lose, this is the best way to begin the process of leading a healthy lifestyle. Do I drink a shake instead of every meal? No. But because it provides the best possible nutrition, I never let a day go by without drinking at least one. Imagine if a tasty McDonalds shake offered you all the nutrition you needed for a whole meal, but it was only 180 calories? Since weight loss equals consuming less calories than you burn off, you can easily imagine how it is an extremely successful and healthy weight loss plan. It costs roughly $1.50, compared to a fatty, salty $10.00 meal at any given restaurant. You don’t need to be a genius to see that the math is in your favor. Healthy Weight Loss Tip #3: Cut Your Snacking BillI personally cannot go to the grocery store anymore without spending at least ten dollars on the things that used to cost  $6.00.  Milk, butter, eggs, bread. It all adds up so quickly that something needs to be sacrificed in order to make ends meet. Instead of cutting back on healthy foods like chicken, fish, vegetables and fruit, cut back instead on the unnecessary snacks that line the cupboards of overweight people. Did you know that every year there are roughly 200 new processed snack foods introduced to the marketplace, and only about 5 new health foods? Think about it. A Reeses candy bar used to be only available in one variety. Now you can choose from dark and white chocolate, chunky, caramel filled, reversed and fudge dipped. No wonder we are the fattest nation in the world! Do yourself a favor and cut back on these fatty snacks. You cannot pig out on junk food if isn’t in your kitchen. You’ll be doing your body and pocketbook a favor. Healthy Weight Loss Tip #4: Stop Smoking You know this guilty pleasure does nothing but cause harm to your body, and since the cost of cigarettes will continue increasing as much as anything else, now is a great time to quit! Where I live, a small package of cigarettes cost almost $7! That’s more than I pay for several days worth of my soy-protein meal replacement shakes. What do you think replacing the cost of a meals and quitting your bad smoking habit would do to your healthy weight loss goals? Probably triple your efforts! Since everyone is faced with the problem of paying a little bit more for everything we buy on a daily basis, making sacrifices is the only viable option this side of getting into debt and hoping prices will fall back into place. Let’s face reality, they never will. Shifting your lifestyle by making healthier decisions with the tips outlined above is a much smarter route to travel…and you’ll be well on your way to a healthy weight loss as a result.  Bill Winch is a Personal Wellness Coach whose mission is teaching and coaching others who are struggling with getting healthy, losing weight safely and keeping it off for good. How many diet books have you read that promised a new, miraculous way to help you finally shed your extra pounds? Maybe it’s a little pill that is supposed to suppress your appetite or a fancy new piece of exercise equipment that people buy into because they are looking for an easy way out. The reason these fads never work is because cheaters never prosper in life, and you simply cannot have a healthy weight loss and keep it off for good overnight. No matter how they masquerade it, the core of any successful healthy weight loss program always comes down to the same philosophy: live a healthy lifestyle. Proper nutrition combined with exercise on a daily basis is the winning combination. And yet, we still manage to screw it up. In an attempt to cut through all the obstacles, here is a list of the most common myths people believe that sabotage their healthy weight loss goals. Healthy Weight Loss Myth #1: It doesn’t matter what you eat, as long as you eat less. If all foods were made the same, we would all be living on chocolate chip cookies and root beer floats. Unfortunately, the human body is complex and needs a variety of nutrients to work at its best. When you begin a diet by eating less calories than your body is used to, proper nutrition is a must. This becomes even more important when you add exercise into the mix. If you want to achieve a healthy weight loss, your body needs to function as well as it possibly can. Taking a soy-based meal replacement shake and daily vitamin in addition to an healthy food choices and fitness regimen is how I not only lose 70 pounds 15 years ago, but I also was able to get off all my asthma medications. The body can perform miracles when you provide it with proper nutrition. Healthy Weight Loss Myth #2: The less you eat, the better your results. If you are not getting enough calories, your body will use fat as fuel, but it can only do so much of this before serious breakdown happens in your muscles.,so you really need to stay above 1,200 calories. Since your body is complex, it kind of has a body has a mind of its own. If you deprive it of food long enough, it is going to panic and hold on to its emergency fuel supplies (fat) in hopes of riding out the difficult period of starvation. Healthy Weight Loss Myth #3: High Proteins And Fats Are A Healthy Way To Lose Weight. Reducing your intake of carboydrates can be okay in moderation, but when you eliminate them completely you are cutting off your primary fuel source. Athletes and active people cannot function properly on this sort of a diet. So unless you plan on spending your time lying on the sofa watching tv, this approach won’t work. Exercise is extremely important and there is never going to be a way around that. Without it you might be able to lose weight but you will not look as healthy. Healthy Weight Loss Myth #4: Fruits And Vegetables Are Bad This thought process comes from the whole glycemic index (GI) craze. GI proponents say that most fruits and vegetables are low in fiber but high in sugar, so they should be avoided. This is complete nonsense. First of all, eating fresh fruits and vegetables is what man evolved on for millions of years, and people were never fat until recently. Why would these natural foods all of a sudden be bad for you? Too much of any one food can take it’s toll on the human body, but you don’t have to be a certified nutritionist to determine that a handful of grapes is 1,000 times healthier than a handful of potato chips. Fresh produce is loaded with vitamins and minerals, not to mention fiber. Go ahead and try to find an overweight person whose biggest indulgence is a banana. (Not dipped in chocolate, of course!) Healthy Weight Loss Myth #5: Fat Free And Sugar Free Products Are HealthyAny fat free or sugar free version of your favorite junk food is nothing but a sneaky marketing ploy designed to cash in on another diet craze that did not work. Fat free does not mean sugar free and vice-versa. Cotton candy is fat free but people can not lose weight on it. Butter is sugar free but you would not want to eat it by the spoonful as part of a healthy weight loss program. A little common sense is required in order to lead a healthy lifestyle. Never judge a book (food) by it’s cover (package). As soon as the next diet craze reveals itself, there will surely be another set of myths to dispel. There is no mystery behind healthy weight loss anymore, no matter how the next so called expert tries to repackage information you already know. For a truly healthy weight loss and maintenance thereafter, focus on creating a daily diet of a soy-based meal replacement shake, smart meal and snack choices that include fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains and lean protein…and of course, exercise. Eating too much of any one food is not the best way to achieve a healthy weight loss, we all know that. But some foods eaten on a regular basis can provide you with enough health benefits that they will begin to actually accelerate your healthy weight loss! No, I’m not talking about eating as much bacon as you can stuff into your mouth like some of these fad diets convince people to do. I’m talking about bananas! Here are six benefits the trusty banana can provide you to achieve a healthy weight loss: Healthy Weight Loss Benefit #1: Bananas Give You EnergyEven though it does not come with a fancy packaging promising you anything, a banana will give an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy because it contains three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose. Just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. The banana is not the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes for nothing! Healthy Weight Loss Benefit #2: Bananas Provide Vitamins & MineralsVitamins are the cornerstone to good health, and the banana is packed with mostly everything the body needs. The vitamin B6 that a banana contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood. Its extremely high levels of iron and potassium reduces the risk of blood pressure and lowers the desire to snack on high carbohydrate foods. Since potassium is a vital mineral that sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance, you can see how important it is for healthy weight loss. Healthy Weight Loss Benefit #3: Bananas Promote OptimismBananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system control our blood sugar. Since they also contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, bananas will improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. The happier you are, the more likely you will stick with your healthy weight loss program with positive thoughts about reaching your goals. Healthy Weight Loss Benefit #4: Bananas Are Rich With FiberIncluding bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives. Fiber is important for healthy weight loss because it helps absorb fat and helps the body so it functions at the optimal level. Bananas have the ability to neutralize over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach! Healthy Weight Loss Benefit #5: Bananas Are A Healthy AlternativeWhen you compare it to an apple, a banana has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. That makes it one of the best value foods around. Don’t ever fall victim to the many fad diets out there that tell you an all-natural banana is bad for you. You’ll be hard pressed to find a healthier alternative. Healthy Weight Loss Benefit #6: Bananas Are Easily AccessibleMost people think about just the health benefits of a food, but never stop to think that the reason America is obese is because they just don’t make the time to stop and think. A banana is the ultimate fast food. It’s even faster to eat than pulling up to a drive through window and waiting for that greasy cheeseburger that you think is your only choice when you’re in a hurry. Being active is an important part of a healthy weight loss program. Bananas are quick and easy to eat at any given moment. Even with its over-abundance of benefits, you obviously can not go around eating bananas all day long as your healthy weight loss plan of action and expect successful results. No one food has it all, that is why it is important to incorporate a variety of healthy foods into your lifestyle. Most people fail to achieve their healthy weight loss goals because they grab a fat free processed snack loaded with preservatives instead of an all-natural fruit from the earth. I lost 70 pounds in 4 months and have kept it off for over 15 years, and the almighty banana has been by my side the entire time. Understanding the importance of soy-based protein, I start every day off with a meal replacement shake and a banana is always thrown into the mix for good measure. It is all part of making healthy choices when you are serious about losing weight safely and keeping it off for good. 1. They could not follow the program. 2. They lost some weight but could not maintain it. These two problems are the biggest ones that most people face but this does not mean that they are the only ones. Both of these problems are related to the human mind and not human body. Your exercise plan or diet has got nothing to do with the failure. The main cause of this failure is the mind state of a human being; he is expected to follow the program with consistency which for some people is not possible. Another reason for this failure is the conflict between a person’s unconscious and conscious state of mind. These two are the reasons due to which a person fails to lose his or her weight. If you are not prepared then nothing can help you get the required results. The only solution to this problem is to change the entire life style of a person. This will help his sub-conscious mind to accept it and he will be able to follow the plan with more consistency. This shift will solve all the problems and the person will adapt to the new settings. Now this will be more of an adopted life style than a forced on. Now the person will follow the whole diet and exercise program without any trouble. There are numerous advance mind trainings that can help you achieve this state of mind, magically slim being one of them. With the required mind state in place a person will easily follow all the weight loss programs and will be able to maintain it for a long period of time. With the mind state in place you will need to find yourself a good diet and exercise plan. You can only lose your weight if you are able to burn more calories than you take in. For this reason you need to have a good diet plan. You can ask a doctor to tell you about healthy foods with low calories or you can ask your friends who are already following a plan. You can also use the internet yourself and then evaluate the food items. This way you can eat what you want and you will know how much calories it contains. With your diet plan in place it’s time to get yourself a good exercise plan. You can go for some basic exercises or advanced exercise but this depends on your level of experience. You can buy the necessary equipment or join a gym for this reason. You also have another option! If you don’t want to follow exercises then you can go out for walking, cycling, swimming or running. They don’t require any specialized equipment so they are much easier to adopt.
