One of the most common obstacles for a person trying to lose weight is emotional eating. Munching down a bag of potato chips out of boredom, depression or even happiness can be a serious detriment to anyone’s weight loss efforts. It’s not easy to overcome because life is full of events that make us change our emotions. You could be a month into your healthy weight loss program and feeling very good about it, then all of a sudden you get downsized from your job. The first thing you do is become depressed and drive yourself to the grocery store to get a package of double stuff oreos. You know comfort foods like this will only make you more depressed in the morning, but you do it anyway. If you want to be the kind of person who leaves the cookies on the shelf and focus instead on turning negatives into positives, the 6 tips below can help you. Emotional Eating Tip #1: Be PreparedAs I said before, no matter what kind of life you have, there will always be something about to happen that will make you sad or happy. These moments must be expected and the solution approached with caution. What do you do when you see a speed bump in the road? You automatically slow down because you know the consequences. You were prepared because you expected it. Just like you read road signs when you drive, there are signs in life that will tell you when something is about to happen. Emotional Eating Tip #2: DistractionsWhenever you are overjoyed or depressed about something, have a list of activities ready to take your mind off emotional eating. Keeping your hands busy doing anything besides reaching into a box of Cheez-its, is going to help you overcome your shift in emotions without eating. For me it is closing myself off to the world and practicing my guitar, playing a video game, or going for a long walk with my Ipod. By the time I am finished with any of these activities, I have usually found a solution or at least have calmed down. Emotional Eating Tip #3: Drink A Bottle Of WaterThis does not sound like something you want to do when you are extremely happy or angry, but water fills you up and makes you feel more full. Anyone on a healthy weight loss program should have a bottle of water handy at all times anyway. When you feel the urge to eat off your program, drink the water. Trust me, it works like a charm. A lot of times people mistake hunger for thirst. Your mind might be tricking you and telling you that you need to eat, when you just might need a drink. Emotional Eating Tip #4: Determine What Is WhatDo you crave a bowl of Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey ice cream or do you just need someone to talk to? When you’re struggling with a craving or feel driven to eat mindlessly, stop and determine what you are feeling. Condition yourself to learn the difference between physical and emotional hunger. I crave eating junk food any time something good happens and when something bad happens I tend to avoid eating. But when I am truly hungry, I will eat healthy foods. Emotional Eating Tip #5: Focus On The Consequences Of Your ActionsIf you stop and think for a minute what that Hershey bar will feel like after you eat it, you might start building up the will power to put it down. You know you will feel bad emotionally because you threw your diet off track, so eat something healthy and get full on that instead. Think about how tomorrow you won’t even remember the taste of it. Maybe that will make you want to eat the carrots instead. Emotional Eating Tip #6: Eat In The Same PlaceRemember the kitchen table? You know that piece of furniture that your monthly bills are usually scattered over? Clear it off and make a promise to yourself to only do your eating there, with no distractions like the tv, radio or newspaper. I know this is the age of multi-tasking, but a lot of emotional eating occurs when we are distracted. Mindless eating in front of the tv is the worst, especially when it is done late at night. No matter what kind of life you have, there will always be problems, even people who are in great physical shape. They may be able to arrive at their problems looking slim and trim, but they have just as many obstacles as a person struggling to lose weight. No matter who you are, you must work your emotions by expecting these obstacles. By stopping emotional eating, you can eliminate about half of the obstacles people face trying to lose weight. Continue Reading »How many times have you started a “supposed” healthy weight loss diet only to find yourself going back to your old eating habits a week later? You have good intentions, but every diet seems to limit what you eat to bland salads and tasteless fat-free versions of your favorite foods. You get to the point where you feel like this isn’t the kind of lifestyle you want for yourself, so you revert back to the foods that make you happy. If this has ever happened to you, don’t feel bad. Lots of people go through the same experience, myself included. I spent $2,000 on Nutri-Systems only to lose 60 pounds and gain 80 pounds right back. I got so tired of eating that cardboard tasting food they have, that I went right back to eating the same foods that made me put on the weight in the first place. What was missing was eating real food that did not give me the feeling that I was on “diet” and making the decision to lead to a healthy lifestyle. I finally lost that 70 pounds about 15 years ago and have kept it off ever since, and I can eat cheesecake as a desert choice on top of it! Why did it work that one time and not all the others? Because I realized that I needed to live a healthy lifestyle beyond making smart choices about food on a daily basis. No, cheesecake is not a smart choice for weight loss. But it doesn’t matter as long as I’m not eating it at every meal! Basically it all comes down to proper nutrition. When you give your body the right nutrients on a daily basis, even if it’s just for one meal, it allows you to cheat on occasion. No, I cannot eat cheesecake 3 times a day and expect to stay slim and fit. No one can unless you are under 20 and can burn calories faster than you can eat. But as you get older and your metabolism slows down, it does not mean you have to get fat. It just means you have to change your way of thinking and adopt a healthy lifestyle. My weight loss and ideal weight maintenance is the direct result of several choices I make on a daily basis, but it all started with one soy-based protein meal replacement shake. Skeptical as I was, I tried it and it worked because it had a money-back guarantee. The reason it worked was because it provided my body with 2,000 calories worth of proper nutrition in only 200 calories. That means that I would have had to eat a huge meal to get all the nutrients I got in the one shake. At first, I replaced two meals a day. Then, once I reached my ideal weight, I switched to just replacing one meal. Since I knew this was the best nutrition possible, I choose to have my shake in the morning because my body has been working hard all night processing what I ate during the day and needs to be able to get instant nutrition. This is not possible by eating ham and eggs for breakfast. This has allowed me to eat sensibly throughout the day as I wish, and then splurge for dinner if I want to. Just as long as I go back to my nutritious shake every morning, everything works out fine. I know what you are thinking…you have to spend the rest of your life drinking a bland protein shake every morning for breakfast? The answer to that question is yes…and no. First of all, the shake comes in many flavors and can be prepared lots of different ways…and it tastes delicious! Most people skip breakfast…I drink a smoothie instead. Once you get the right nutrition in your body, you begin to feel so good that you can’t imagine starting off a day any other way. Remember when I said losing weight and keeping it off for good requires making healthy lifestyle choices? This shake I take every morning is one of them. Another is 30 minutes of cardio-vascular exercise every day. Just like drinking the shake, this became just as routine in my schedule as watching tv every night. It is possible to lose weight without exercise, but when you add it into the mix you are doing yourself a huge favor. Notice how I have not said anything yet about counting calories or weighing myself? That’s because it’s not necessary when you feed your body proper nutrition on a daily basis. Those are things that yo-yo dieters focus on and they never lose weight. They would rather follow fad diet and after fad diet to try to take the easy way out…but it’s not so easy is it? Cheaters never prosper and it’s no different for losing weight. You must learn to develop and healthy lifestyle. Diet and fat free versions of your favorite foods are often worse than the fatty versions because they are not natural. Anything all-natural is a smarter choice than something altered for the sake of convincing you to buy it for weight loss. The key is moderation. Part of living a healthy lifestyle is realizing you do not need to eat pizza and fettucini alfredo every time you sit down for a meal. It all comes down to making intelligent decisions about what you eat and how often you eat it. In order for you to lose weight and keep it off for good without constantly being on a diet, you have to decide that you need to develop the mindset of a person living a healthy lifestyle. Start with getting proper nutrition into your body, then begin making small daily choices in the right direction with exercise and food. Soon you will realize that a diet is nothing more than something that used to hold you back. Continue Reading »An apple a day keeps the doctor away. We have all heard this a million times in our lives, but for some reason we would rather grab a double stuffed OREO when we feel like a snack. Would we be more inclined to eat this all-natural food if the saying was An Apple A Day Keeps The Fat Away? I think we would. We are a nation that puts quick weight loss fixes at the top of our priorities instead of focusing on our overall health. Living a healthy lifestyle is essential for not only losing weight, but maintaining an ideal weight so you do not need to trying fad diets. Apples have a variety of advantages that will keep us living healthy and fat free. Ever wonder why there are so many varieties of apples in the grocery store? It is because they are a perfect addition to your weight-loss plan and well-being for a number of reasons, and our earth wants us to be reminded of it. Weight Loss Tips #1: Apples are Low In Calories And FatCalories are calories, whether they are from healthy fruits and vegetables or a plate of fettucini alfredo. Since you lose weight when you burn off more calories than you consume, it is best to eat foods that will make you feel full without the calories. That is why an apple as a snack will not hurt your weight loss efforts like so many fat-free snack foods that are on the market. These foods contain lots of calories even though they are low in fat. Apples do not, thus killing two birds with one stone. Weight Loss Tips #2: Apples Contain CarbohydratesYes, you read that right. Contrary to popular belief, carbohydrates are not detrimental to weight loss. I am not recommending you go out and eat a box of Cheez-Its to get carbohydrates, however. Unlike packaged snack foods, apples will not trigger you to eat more than you need. Carbohydrates will give you lots of energy, and the more active you are the more calories you will burn. Since you want the fuel without preservatives and other artificial ingredients, apples are perfect. Weight Loss Tips #3: Apples Are A Good Source Of Fiber, Vitamins And MineralsThe healthier you are, the easier it is to lose weight. Your body can perform miracles when you provide it with proper nutrition. Fiber is a good way to curb your appetite, so eating an apple before a big meal will eliminate your desire to eat too much. Even though it’s not bursting with nutrients like some of the other fruits, apples are a good source of vitamin C, which in a round about way help prevent heart disease and the formation of some cancers. Weight Loss Tips #4: Apples Have A High Water ContentWhen a person is trying to lose weight, it is always best to focus on a diet of water-rich foods. Water is an extremely important part of weight loss, but not everyone likes to drink their share of it or they forget to. Eating water-rich foods like apples and other fruits will at least solve part of the problem if you have trouble remembering to drink enough liquids. Not only does water make you feel more full, but it does so without giving your body more calories. Weight Loss Tips #5: Apples Detoxifying The BodyApples contain enzymes that help your body digest food more efficiently. When your body is able to get rid of toxins, it becomes a healthier host for proper nutrition to do its magic. Apples are much cheaper than any detox program you will ever find, but you must remember that one apple is not going to make much of a difference. You need to make a habit of eating apples on a weekly basis if not daily, along with other foods that accelerate weight loss and promote good health. Since apples are low in calories and fat, and contain carbohydrates as well as fiber, vitamins and minerals, it is no wonder they can help you lose weight in different ways. Did I forget to mention that the fiber from apples helps you feel full longer because it expands in your stomach? Forgetting that probably has something to do with the fact that apples have even more advantages than our minds can remember. The most important part of losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is developing the mindset to support good habits like eating an apple instead of a Hershey bar. You have to be the kind of person who really believes that eating an apple will help you in all of these positive ways, and that the junk foods you are giving up as a consequence really are bad for you. Believing leads to action and action gets results. The kind of results you need for any healthy weight loss program all boils down to your beliefs. Continue Reading »In order to achieve healthy weight loss and keep it off for good, the most important thing to remember is you are what you eat. You have heard that a million times I’m sure, but it’s the absolute truth. If you eat nothing but junk food, you will be a walking example of bad health. Sad but true, but the good news is that it works the same way when you lead a healthy lifestyle. Most people don’t understand how they woke up one day and suddenly found themselves fat and lethargic. That’s because poor food choices made on a daily basis is something that creeps up on you. One cheeseburger won’t kill you, but one cheeseburger every day plus all those fries that are also OK to eat with them add up. There is no magic pill that will ever be invented to allow you to eat garbage without it taking a toll on your body. If you want to achieve healthy weight loss and keep it off for good, you have to lead a healthy lifestyle and there is no other way around it. You do not have to give up the junk foods you love, but you do have to limit your consumption and replace them with choices that coincide with your plan of action. Here are 6 fat burning foods that should help you with your healthy weight loss goals. Healthy Weight Loss Food #1: Soy ProteinProtein takes a lot of effort for the body to break down and digest…even more than fat. So while your body is working hard to process that protein, you’re burning calories. The best type of protein for healthy weight loss is soy-based. A soybean is the closest thing you can get to a magic weight loss pill. I start every day with a soy-based protein shake to ensure I am getting the best nutrition money can buy…and I don’t miss the donuts and bagels one bit! Healthy Weight Loss Food #2: Whole GrainsBelly fat is not attractive or healthy on anyone, and whole grains can really go to work on that stubborn flab around your midsection. One of the most efficient ways to get whole grains into your diet is through supplements because you don’t have to eat tons of oatmeal to get the your daily requirement. (Even though a bowl of grape nuts with fresh strawberries and blueberries every once in a while is hard to resist!) Healthy Weight Loss Food #3: GrapefruitYou have to have grown up in a cave far away from civilization to not have been told that Vitamin C is good for you. Along with the powerful antioxidant benefits, this vitamin helps burn fat. The next time you’re looking for a cool snack on a hot day, dig into a juicy grapefruit. It will help to lower insulin levels, which keeps you from being hungry all the time! Too sour? Sprinkle it with Splenda (not sugar). The goal here is to lose weight. Healthy Weight Loss Food #4: Green TeaGreen tea is the first thing I drink in the morning when I wake up, and I usually drink another cup in the afternoon just because of its awesome health benefits. This superdrink helps us lose weight by raising our metabolism, which will burn off calories faster than you ever imagined. Hot or cold, don’t let a day go by without using it to your healthy weight loss advantage. Fat Burning Food #5: WaterOK…it’s not really a food, but it’s important to drink lots of water if you’re trying to burn fat. This is the ingredient that people miss the most. Your body can’t work effectively if it’s dehydrated, so it’s extremely important to keep a bottle of water with you at all times. Don’t worry, you’ll get used to it and thank yourself when you do. And no, soda pop (regular or diet) is not a healthy alternative. Healthy Weight Loss Food #6: ApplesAn apple a day keeps the doctor away. Why don’t we ever listen to what we are told when we are kids? Apples and other water-rich fruits will make your diet plan more effective. The pectin contained in apples limits how much fat your cells can absorb. How awesome is that?! Plus, it’s a naturally soluble fiber, which is always good. Forget about counting carbs and calories in packaged snacks. Just grab an apple. As you can obviously tell, there are many food options we tend to overlook on our journey to a healthy weight loss. Most people focus on trying every new product they see advertised on tv without remembering that it’s always good to just stick with the basics. People 2, 3 and 4 decades ago did not have the technological advances we have today, and obesity was practically unheard of. Think about what they ate, and think about what you eat. For things to change, you have got to change. Continue Reading »Everywhere you look, prices are going up and people are more strapped for cash than ever. You can not walk into a grocery store anymore and leave without spending at least ten dollars on things that used to cost mere pocket change. Milk. Bread. Eggs. Butter. It all adds up so quickly now, and people are realizing they need to cut costs somewhere. Unfortunately, most health foods are more expensive than pre-packaged foods that are not as good for our bodies. The first thing people will do is start eating Tuna Helper for dinner instead of chicken, steak or shrimp. If you are on a healthy weight loss program, and you do not want to eat Tuna Helper but want to save money, what do you do? If you think that a $100 weight loss program is not an option, you may want to think again! I personally lost 70 pounds in 3 months and have kept it off for over 15 years. After spending $2,000 at Nutri-Systems only to lose 60 pounds and gain 80, a $100 a month weight loss program was the last thing I wanted to buy. But since it came with a money back guarantee, I gave it a shot. Not only did it work, but I actually saved money! Here’s how… The first thing you must realize is that no healthy weight loss program is worth the money unless it is all-natural. What you put into your body is going to determine how you look and feel. There is no way around it. The majority of people who eat donuts every morning for breakfast are fat and unhealthy. Those who eat oatmeal instead are usually thin and healthy. Since the program I tried was all-natural soy-based protein meal replacement shakes with target vitamins, I was able to lose weight in a healthy way. Not only did I lose weight, but my severe asthma and allergies cleared up and I was able to get off all of my prescription medications. When you feed your body proper nutrition, it has the ability to heal itself and perform better. Each shake I drank was a meal replacement. The nutrition in each one was the equivalent of eating a 2,000 calorie meal, but I was only consuming 200 calories. You can easily see how this helps a person lose weight. At first I replaced two meals a day until I was at my desired weight, then I switched to just replacing one to maintain that weight. Why stop giving my body good nutrition just because I reached my weight loss goal? A meal replacement means you are not spending money at McDonalds, Starbucks or IHOP anymore, where you spend a minimum of $50 a week, and in the most generous circumstances. Most healthy weight loss programs cost about $100 a month, so you would be saving money and getting healthy at the same time. Even replacing one meal a day would still be cheaper than if you were not trying to lose weight but creating a healthy lifestyle. I know what you are thinking. Who wants to drink a bland milk shake for breakfast when you could be eating an oversized plate of caramel pecan waffles with syrup and whipped cream? The answer to that question is two-fold. First of all, the soy-protein shakes I drink are not bland. They come in a variety of flavors in powder form, and I can be as creative as I want to be with them. I do not even need to make a shake, I can sprinkle it over cereal or mix it in yogurt. The second answer to that question is that what you eat is a matter of choice. Sure you can go out and eat those waffles, but you will not lose weight if you do. You spend about $10 to gain a few pounds. It will taste nice and yummy for the first few bites until you stuff yourself, but then you will regret not having the shake a few hours later when your blood sugar drops down lower than when you woke up. Since most healthy weight loss programs come in a month supply, you must pay for the whole month in advance. This is where most people think they can not afford to eat healthy, and it simply is not true. Do the math. Replacing two meals a day will save you how much money? About $150 if all you spend is $5 a meal. How much does each meal replacement cost if the total price is about $100 for the month? About $1.60. Is $1.60 per meal for a healthy weight loss program worth more than spending $5 a meal to gain weight? Only a person who is not serious about losing weight would say no. No matter what healthy weight loss program you are contemplating, you must first be committed to living a healthy lifestyle or else your money will be wasted. Once you make the decision to stick with it, weigh all our options and do the math. When times are rough like they are now, your first observation might be that you can not afford it. When you break it down meal for meal, then add up all the health benefits you will also get, you will probably find that you can make it work to your advantage. Continue Reading »Have you ever been on a diet and found yourself being totally confused about how to read food labels? Not knowing this information could be the difference between weight loss success and failure. More often than not, people who are trying to achieve a healthy weight loss will not be able to do so just because they believe everything they read. Most of us think that foods labeled “low fat” will help us lose weight. If this were really true, why didn’t anyone from the fat free diet craze of the 1980’s lose weight and keep it off? You may be shocked to discover that low fat foods may do the opposite. Yes, that is right! They can actually make us gain weight! Since the driving force behind any weight loss fad is for the manufacturer to make money, low-fat labels purposely prompt people to overindulge in several different ways. I know you are asking yourself how such a farce can actually be allowed to happen, right? All I have to say to that is keep reading! Reading Food Labels Tip #1: Portion DistortionMost people believe that an appropriate serving size for low-fat food is 30 percent larger than the full-fat version. When this happens, nearly 50 percent more calories are consumed. No matter how much fat a product says it does or does not have, remember it is all about calories. Think of it this way. Which is better for weight loss: 1,000 fat calories from butter or 1,000 fat calories from apples? Neither! They will both give you 1,000 calories. Granted, the apples will give you lots of other vitamins and minerals that will make you healthier than the butter will, but you won’t weigh any less! Reading Food Labels Tip #2: Ingredient ShiftMost of the time when fat content is reduced, carbohydrate and sugars are increased. What happens when carbohydrates and sugars don’t get burned off? Your body turns them into fat so it will have a reserve of fuel. The bottom line is that you must look at all the ingredients, not just the big text on the front of the package that says NO FAT. Diet soda is much more harmful to your body than regular soda because of the nasty ingredients they have to add to make it diet. This goes for NO CARB and NO TRANS FAT foods as well. If a company making a product feels that it needs to grab your attention by promoting the latest weight loss fad in bold letters across the front of their package, chances are it probably is not a good choice. Reading Food Labels Tip #3: No Label Is KingWhat kinds of foods do not come pre-packaged with a label full of ingredients? Fruits and vegetables. What kinds of foods are all natural and grown from the earth we live on? Fruits and vegetables. What kinds of foods do you know will help you lose weight even though you would rather grab the box of fat free Oreos? Fruits and vegetables. Not that it needs to be said at this point, but if you can not determine if the label is saying something good or bad, put it down and head to the produce department. Fruits and vegetables are the most ideal foods you can eat for a healthy weight loss. What about protein, you say? Think soy. I lost 70 pounds and have kept it off for 15 years when I switched to a soy-protein based way of eating. Label or not, the key to a healthy weight loss is living a healthy lifestyle. Making smart decisions about what you eat, as well as exercising every day, will allow you to lead a label free life. Smart is choosing to eat an apple instead of a donut. Smart is choosing to drink a soy-based protein shake instead of a caramel whip cream latte from Starbucks. Smart is drinking green tea instead of diet Pepsi. Remember… for things to change, you have got to change. Continue Reading »We all know how important protein is to any diet, whether you are trying to achieve a healthy weight loss or not. Certain fad diets tell people its OK to go out and eat as much greasy bacon as you want, as long as you stay away from those killer carbohydrates. As you probably have already figured out, this type of diet does not work. The main reason is that the source of protein comes from animal fats, and eating too much of it will take its toll on your health. Be very thankful that we have soy in our world. It is the healthy alternative to animal protein for many many reasons. The incorporation of even just a small amount of soy protein into the diet every day is beneficial in the prevention of all kinds of diseases. What does that have to do with losing weight? Everything! The key to healthy weight loss is proper nutrition. Once your body is healthy on a daily basis, it can perform miracles. Living a healthy lifestyle means choosing soy over bacon when you want to give your body protein fuel. When you feed your body the right way, you will get the results you want. Soy contains more protein than milk without the saturated fat or cholesterol. Soya beans are the only beans to be considered a complete protein because they contain all eight essential amino acids. Soy protein contains high levels of a substance called Tyrosine, which helps to maintain our alertness and mental energy without the need for excess calories. Soy is a low-glycemic index food which helps regulate blood-sugar and insulin fluctuations. This helps you to feel more satisfied and less hungry until your next meal, which is beneficial for weight management and control. Some studies even indicate that soy may stimulate the metabolism! How cool is that! Soy also helps reduce the amount of fat that is stored in your body by converting fewer calories into fat from the food that you consume. Soy protein can also control insulin levels therefore reducing the frequency of sugar cravings. Since your body will feel more satisfied and less hungry, this will also reduce the overindulgent eating. Soy also enhances energy levels and building muscle mass in a healthy way. Muscles burn energy during daily activities and exercise. Increased muscle mass burns more calories. Since soy increases the speed at which the fat cells burn the fat stored in the body, it once again affects your metabolism. Exercise is not mandatory for a healthy weight loss, but even the smallest workout every day can accelerate your weight loss efforts. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise…until I began drinking soy-based protein shake meal replacements. I lost 70 pounds in 4 months and have kept it off for over 15 years now. The best part is that because of the benefits of soy, I can now exercise every day without any breathing problems. I was also able to get rid of all my prescription medications on top of it. Do I have to drink a soy-based shake every day? No, I do not have to. If I want to go back to being overweight with breathing problems, I suppose I could stop using soy. But why would I ever want to do that? As I stated before, the key to a healthy weight loss and maintaining an ideal weight is the willingness to lead a healthy lifestyle. You can not lose weight and expect to go back to old bad eating habits without suffering the consequences. A great advantage to living a healthy lifestyle is that you do not need to give up the foods you love. You can sill eat them, just not as often. You must replace some of those foods with healthier alternatives. The road to a healthy weight loss is littered with all kinds of snack wrappers, like soy nuts, protein bars and fruit. (OK, fruit usually doesn’t need a wrapper, but you get my point. Since fad diets, unbalanced diets, diet pills, diet supplements, weight loss surgery and other short term weight loss methods are the cheaters way to lose weight, why bother? Cheaters never prosper and there is no substitute for proper nutrition. Take advantage of the many benefits soy can give to you and you will soon find yourself living the kind of life you deserve. Continue Reading »Lifestyle modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight loss plan (eating less and moving more), but requires daily focus and discipline. It’s not surprising that Americans want some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little healthy weight loss supplement. As time goes on and technology improves, people become more and more willing to look for a fix rather than a solution. Since there are too many choices out there to compare regarding healthy weight loss supplements, it all comes down to two questions: Are Weight-loss supplements safe? and Do they work? The answer is in the ingredients and the testimonials of people who have taken them. All -natural products will not get people addicted to anything outside of wanting to live healthier. So many medications and drugs people take come wtih complications and side effects. What happens when your body gets something all-natural is that it begins to heal itself in a non-addictive way. Many weight loss programs encourage users to reduce their calories and exercise more for the best results. While most people can benefit from both of these lifestyle changes, what you want are all-natural healthy weight loss supplements that work regardless of physical activity. After all, some of us can’t exercise due to an injury, and some of us have severe asthma, or other health challenges. You must also stay away from any one miracle product claiming to solve all of your problems. The human body is complex and requires targeted products that focus on individual areas in order to aid the body as a whole. Doctors can only give people the best estimate of their problems, so how could a little pill perform mircales that humans can’t? Since the soil today is depleted of minerals and animals are injected with hormones, the foods that we once thought were healthy aren’t so much anymore. Fruit and vegetables get picked way before they have had a chance to properly grow just do they can make it to the grocery stand, and we are missing out on all the nutrition we should be getting. Healthy weight loss supplements are the only way to finish the job. Most of the time people try to take shortcuts by taking weight loss pills without eating properly, thinking it’s better to find an easy way out tha to get to the root of the problem. When it doesn’t work out, they blame the pill instead of themselves for making poor choices. This is how people have come to think that weight loss supplements are a scam. There is nothing wrong with being skeptical, but most companies that provide good quality healthy weight loss supplements have scientists developing their products for your benefit. Take advantage of that. They are providing you with something you cannot find in stores. It always amazes me how people can be so skeptical about products that contain all-natural ingredients, yet they will devour double cheeseburgers and french fries without even thinking about it…and they already know it’s bad for them! With proper nutrition and targeted healthy weight loss supplements using all natural ingredients, your body has the ability to do amazing things. It can heal itself quicker than someonewho is eating poorly, and it is the only way a person can become well enough to stop using medications. I personally lost 70 pounds and have kept it off for over 15 years and stopped taking my prescription asthma medications simply by providing myself with proper nutrition using healthy weight loss supplements. Losing weight is definitely possible with all-natural healthy weight loss supplements, but in order to keep it off for good you must learn to make it a lifestyle change and continue on a healthy path to overall wellness. You cannot take supplements designed to help you lose weight, then go out and eat junk food all day long. It just will not work. The best thing you can do to begin to understand how all-natural healthy weight loss supplements work for weight loss is that they provide proper nutrition, and what happens when you give your body the right nutrients and vitamins? It naturally begins to lose weight and heal itself. The only scam going on is when you try to trick your body into thinking it can function properly without proper nutrition. Continue Reading »No matter what stop light your car is parked at, chances are good that you can look over at any of the four street corners and see a fast food restaurant. Despite all of the technical advances and knowledge we are equipped with to help us lead healthy lifestyles, temptation is keeping our nation fat and a soaring need for healthy weight loss for over 65% of Americans. One cheeseburger won’t hurt us in the long run, we say, but ten years later we wonder how we became obese. Another factor helping America achieve the status of being the fattest nation in the world, and an alarming need for healthy weight loss, is fad diets. We eat cheeseburgers, tacos and fried chicken at all of these fast food restaurants, then jump on whatever fad diet train that conveniently passes by in order to try and cheat our way back to good health. All it seems to be doing is making us even fatter. I struggled with being overweight for twenty years before finally realizing that cheaters never prosper, and it goes double when dealing with your health. I spent over $2,000 on various weight loss programs only to lose 60 pounds and gain back 80 pounds. The only logical solution I could come up with was that there was something wrong with me personally or I was using the wrong weight loss programs. But thankfully, I’m not the type of person who gives up. When I finally woke up and realized that there will never be some sort of miracle cure packaged nicely in one little healthy weight loss supplement that will help anyone lose weight, things became clear. In order to lose weight and keep it off for good, I had to face the fact that lifestyle changes must be made and I had to find a healthy weight loss program that would work for me. Lifestyle modifications are the foundation of any successful long-term weight loss plan (eating less and moving more), and they require daily focus and discipline. I had chronic asthma all of my life and could not exercise or even breathe heavy, yet I still found a way to lose 70 pounds 15 years ago and have been medication free ever since. For me there was no other choice. It all came down to making simple decisions on a daily basis. The way I lost weight was by replacing high-fat and high-sugar foods with proper nutrition and targeted vitamins made from all natural ingredients. Specifically, I began replacing unhealthy meals with a soy-based protein shake that gave my body all of the proper nutrition that a huge high-calorie meal gives you, minus the salt, sugar and fat. Proper nutrition and less calories equals healthy weight loss. Did I give up the foods I love? No. I just don’t eat them quite so often. One of the biggest misconceptions that I have encountered since beginning to help people in their healthy weight loss journey is that all you have to do is eat vegetables and fruits to get the nutrition you need. Although these foods are a much healthier alternative than low-fat potato chips and cookies, you still have to eat too much of them to get the nutrition of a scientifically formulated protein shake. Calories are calories no matter what the food source is, and the more you consume, the more you will gain weight. One 200 calorie soy-based protein meal replacement shake, for example, could be packed with all the nutrients found in eating 2,000 calories worth of food. The human body is complex and requires many different needs for all of your problems which cannot be solved with one little weight loss pill. Treating each organ individually so that it functions at its optimum performance is the safest way to achieve an overall wellness of the body. By taking an all-natural products targeted to help me breathe better, I was soon able to get off all of my asthma medications while achieving the weight loss I wanted. Another reason why I was successful at losing weight and keeping it off was because I had a support system. My coach had been where I was, and struggled in the same ways to achieve weight loss. Because he was part of the program I began, my coach’s success was dependent on my success. And that is why I am so successful at helping people lose weight now. I have been there before and I know what it’s like. The best part about the meal replacements and supplements I have conditioned myself to take every day to keep me healthy is the cost. It is cheaper for me to get the best nutrition possible into my system than it is to buy the extra value meal at any given fast food restaurant. How can you beat spending $3.50 per meal without putting your health at risk. It is important that you understand the importance of making healthy choices as a new way of life. It is extremely difficult in America today to find the road to good health and stay on it, but you must if you want to achieve healthy weight loss and keep it off for good. Do not let poor food and diet choices rob you of living the best life you can live. For things to change, you’ve got to change. It may not seem possible, but eating the right foods can help you drop pounds by revving your calorie burn and curbing cravings. You know that starving yourself isn’t a successful healthy weight loss plan, and who wants to eat bean sprouts and salads at every meal? If you begin adding the following super foods to your plate today, you will have a better chance of being slimmer and healthier in no time! Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #1: SteakBeef has a reputation of being a bad for our diet, but it’s a good choice for dinner when you want to shed unwanted pounds. People who include red meat into their diet generally lose more weight than those eating other foods of equal calories. As an added benefit, protein in steak helps retain muscle mass during weight loss. Want the best results? Go for the local organic beef. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #2: EggsEggs (including the yolk) can help you trim inches without harming your heart. An egg each morning can allow you to lose twice as many pounds as the alternative of a bagel breakfast with the same number of calories. Egg protein is quite filling, so as a result you eat less later in the day. Omelets and scrambles are obvious choices, but if you can’t cook before work, grab a soy-protein shake and save your eggs for the weekend. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #3: KaleBirds love it, and have you ever seen a fat bird? Kale should always find a place somewhere on your dinner plate. One cup contains only 34 calories while providing you with a hearty helping of iron and calcium. Not into kale’s earthy flavor? Try spinach as an alternative. It’s just as nutrient dense, but with a milder-taste. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #4: Buckwheat pastaForget all those diets that tell you carbohydrates are bad. You need them for fuel or else your body will start grabbing it from your muscles. Instead of going for plain noodles, try buckwheat. It is higher in fiber and unlike most carbohydrate-rich foods, it contains protein! These two nutrients make it very satiating, so it’s harder to overeat than regular pasta. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #5: PomegranatesPomegranate seeds are loaded with folate and disease-fighting antioxidants. They’re low in calories and high in fiber, so they satisfy your sweet tooth without ruining your healthy weight loss efforts. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #6: BeansBeans are a very good sources of protein, fiber and iron. Navy, White, Kidney and Lima beans are all fat-burning foods. The only ones that you should limit are those baked and refried because they contain tons of saturated fat and sugar. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #7: OatmealWhile it may not be the tastiest thing you can eat, oatmeal definitely has fat burning qualities. It helps lower your cholesterol level and blood cholesterol because of it’s abundance of soluble fiber. Just like beans, you can’t always go for Americanized version, you know the yummy apples and cinnamon version loaded with butter and sugar. If regular oatmeal tastes too bland, sweeten your bowl by adding fruit, honey or cranberries. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #8: Olive OilOlive oil is one of those good fats that your body needs. It’s so good, in fact, that it helps you burn fat and keeps your cholesterol down. Rich in monounsaturated fat, olive oil provides outstanding health benefits. Healthy Weight Loss Super-Food #9: Green TeaWant to talk about anti-oxidants? It doesn’t get any better than this. Green tea not only provides you with enough natural energy to last throughout the day, but it is loaded with antioxidants and helps accelerate your metabolism. Stop drinking 3 cups of coffee every morning and switch to one cup of this super food. You’ll watch your pounds melt away while feeling energetic at the same time. Of course, all of these foods should be accompanied with a daily exercise regimen in order for them to be the most effective for healthy weight loss. Cardiovascular exercise burns calories and building muscle burns fat. Once you condition yourself to make healthier food choices and exercise every day, you’ll be on your way to losing weight and keeping it off for good.
